Group 1 includes the following academies: Logistics, Navy, Border Guard, Air Defense-Air Force (Command and Staff system) and officer schools: Army 1 (for candidates with permanent residence from Quang Binh province to the North), Army 2 (for candidates with permanent residence from Quang Tri province to the South), Politics, Special Forces, Artillery, Armored Vehicles, Chemical Defense, Information, Engineering. Group 2: Students of Military Engineering, Military Medicine, Military Science. For schools and majors with many admission combinations, candidates can register to change their admission combinations within the school or within the major according to regulations.

The Military Admissions Board of the Ministry of National Defense also emphasized that for candidates, military academies and schools will only consider admission to military university and college training for candidates who have been notified of meeting the preliminary selection requirements and have registered for admission for their first choice.
