Attractive destination to preserve and promote traditional national cultural identity

Lim Festival, one of the largest and most anticipated Spring festivals in Northern Vietnam, has recently announced plans to organize and manage this year's festival.

Accordingly, the Lim Xuan Giap Thin 2024 festival will be held from February 21-22 (ie January 12 and 13 of the year Giap Thin). The festival takes place in 3 communes of the former Noi Due commune, now Lim town, Noi Due commune and Lien Bao commune. The festival center is Hong Van mountain (Lim mountain) in Lim town.

The Lim Spring Festival of Giap Thin 2024 includes a ceremony and a festival. The ceremony includes an incense offering ceremony at Hong An Pagoda and the tomb of General Nguyen Dinh Dien on Lim Hill; the festival will take place in the center of Lim Hill, the Van Tuong Lake area and other areas.

The main activities of the festival are singing exchanges, singing Quan Ho in response at 3 Quan Ho camps and Quan Ho singing on boats. In addition, the festival also has many folk games such as swinging, traditional wrestling, blind man's bluff, pot-breaking, dragon dance, lion dance, along with other cultural, culinary and entertainment activities.

Not simply an entertainment activity, Lim festival aims to arouse pride in the long-standing cultural traditions of Kinh Bac homeland, expressing respect and gratitude to historical and cultural celebrities and national heroes in the cause of building and defending the country.

At the same time, cultural and artistic activities, Quan Ho singing, and folk games will also create a vibrant competitive atmosphere among the people, encouraging people to promote the patriotic emulation movement, actively work and produce, and fulfill the socio-economic development goals in 2024.

Notably, the Lim Xuan Giap Thin 2024 festival promotes culture in traditional festivals. Specifically, the Organizing Committee especially emphasized that the organization of the ceremony must follow traditional rituals, ensuring the preservation and promotion of the homeland's cultural identity, preventing and eliminating the intrusion of cultural products with bad content. State management of festivals is strengthened so that festival activities are organized in a joyful and practical spirit, ensuring solemnity, safety and economy.

The Steering Committee of the Lim Spring Festival 2024 has issued a list of criteria for the cultural environment at the festival. For example, to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings about the image of tipping one's hat to invite betel, the Organizing Committee noted that Quan Ho singing venues are allowed to receive bonuses and lucky money from visitors but must ensure culture and be consistent with traditional values.

Quan Ho singing venues are encouraged to use traditional musical instruments, not new music, Cheo singing, Van singing, and other inappropriate music. The organizing committee strictly prohibits electronic games, circus, flying motorbikes, darts, advertising, and other games using compressed speakers, using high-power loudspeakers that affect the festival space.

To ensure security and order of the festival, the Organizing Committee also strictly prohibits shops and services from displaying and selling goods or doing business on Lim Hill, and strictly prohibits taking advantage of folk games to organize disguised gambling...
