On the morning of September 15, Mr. Vu Quang Dung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Hy district, Thai Nguyen province, said that 8 Mong ethnic households at risk of landslides in Deo Vai and Deo Gianh areas (Lien Phuong hamlet, Van Lang commune) have been urgently evacuated.

Previously, on September 13 and 14, after checking key locations, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue (PCTT&TKCN) of Dong Hy district discovered many cracks with a total length of about 30m in Deo Vai and Deo Gianh areas (Lien Phuong hamlet), of which the largest crack was about 30-40cm wide.

"These cracks appeared high up on the slope, about 30 meters away from the residential area and farmland of the households," said Mr. Dung.

"Currently, we have arranged food and accommodation for the people; sent some units to survey, assess the level of danger and then come up with specific plans," said Mr. Dung.
