Tran Thuong Temple organizes spiritual ceremony on the death anniversary of Saint Tran

On the morning of October 4, the 20th day of the 8th lunar month, the Management Board of Tran Thuong Temple relic, Tran Hung Dao commune, in coordination with the Department of Culture and Information of Ly Nhan district, solemnly organized a spiritual ceremony and offered incense to commemorate the death anniversary of Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan.

Within the framework of the August festival at Tran Thuong Temple, spiritual rituals, palanquin processions, and incense offerings are held on the anniversary of the death of General Tran Quoc Tuan (August 20th of the lunar calendar). The spiritual rituals performed are the inheritance and promotion of the beliefs of agricultural residents throughout thousands of years of history.

Accordingly, the Saint's palanquin was carried by local people from the communal house to Tran Thuong Temple. Leading the way was the lion dance team, followed by the ceremonial banner symbolizing the majesty of Saint Tran, five-colored flags, four-spirit flags... gongs and drums. The procession went around the village, then returned to the palace to hold an incense offering ceremony to commemorate the death anniversary of Saint Tran.

The August festival of Tran Thuong Temple is part of the spiritual cultural flow with the consciousness of "August is the death anniversary of the Father" of Vietnamese people across the country. In the Mother Goddess worship, Saint Tran is revered as the Father King. The temple worshiping the Saint and the generals are all important places to guard the military, economic and political aspects of many dynasties in history. In addition to the traditional sacrificial rituals and palanquin processions, the festival also has typical rituals such as: sacrificial ceremonies to the mandarins, and performances to serve the Saint with the Tran Dynasty's officials.

Within the framework of the festival, many festive activities are also organized such as folk games, chess competitions, "I love the history of Ly Nhan homeland for the 5th time", the 4th Chau Van and Hat Van performance festival of Ly Nhan district in 2023...
