Come to Diem village to attend the festival, remember the Quan Ho ancestor

(CLO) Hundreds of locals and tourists flocked to the Viem Xa village festival (also known as the Diem village festival) in Hoa Long ward, Bac Ninh city, Bac Ninh province. This is one of the major festivals in the area to honor the value of Quan Ho folk songs of Kinh Bac region.

Diem village is one of the 49 original quan ho villages, the only place with a temple to worship the Queen Mother - the ancestor of quan ho. On the opening day of the festival, hundreds of locals and tourists from all over the country flocked to the festival.

The Diem village festival consists of a ceremony and a festival. The ceremony begins with a flag-running performance, followed by a drum performance, reenacting the story of the Queen giving the order to open the spring festival with a ball-throwing and ball-grabbing performance.

At the festival, there is also a procession of the throne and the tablet of the Queen around the village with the participation of hundreds of people. The procession stops at Cung-Ngoc well temple, the village elders go down to Ngoc well to get water and then carry it to the Queen temple to perform the bathing ceremony of the Queen. The rituals are conducted solemnly, showing respect, praying for the Queen to protect the villagers for a smooth business, good crops, and prosperity.

During the 3 days of the festival, besides Quan Ho singing, visitors can also participate in many other exciting cultural and sports activities such as chess competitions, volleyball competitions, folk games: swinging, chess, pot smashing, blindfolded duck catching on land...

The Diem village festival is held annually to show respect for ancestors, arouse pride in the nation's fine cultural traditions, and at the same time raise the sense of responsibility of the whole community in preserving, maintaining and promoting the unique values of Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk songs - a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
