The concert will feature Beethoven's Symphony No. 1 in C major (often called "Beethoven's First Symphony"), a work that showcased his creative, innovative take on classical forms that he spent the rest of his career perfecting; Chopin's Polish Fantasy for piano and orchestra (which Chopin called "Potpourri on Polish themes"); and Grieg's Piano Concerto in A minor (a work that demonstrates Grieg's deep connection to Norwegian folk music and landscapes, with romantic melodies evoking the grandeur of his homeland, composed when he was 25 and still unknown).
In addition to Chopin's music, Poland also had a prominent place in the concert night with the participation of pianist Joanna Marcinkowska and talented conductor and composer Wojciech Czepiel.
