Proposal for planning ideas for aviation - logistics - service industrial complex

This afternoon, January 14, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong; Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam and Le Duc Tien chaired a meeting with sectors, localities and units on the report of T&T Group Joint Stock Company (T&T Company) and the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board on the plan and ideas for planning the aviation - logistics - service - trade industrial complex and Quang Tri airport urban area.

According to the proposed plan, the consulting unit will plan into important sub-zones in the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone including: Industrial park and energy complex, seaport, eco-tourism urban area, modern rural agricultural area and airport area. The unit proposed two preliminary planning options. Accordingly, using 3,400 hectares of land for development around the airport, 8 sub-zones will be formed including: 5 functional areas and 3 residential areas.

According to the consulting unit, considering taking advantage of urban development around the airport area will enhance the value of trade, transportation as well as the city's connection with other areas and vice versa. Based on the existing strengths and development trends of Quang Tri, the consulting unit proposed potential development areas including logistics and trade services, aviation industry, light manufacturing and supporting industry, eco-tourism and cultural tourism, renewable energy and green technology, agricultural processing and export, education and vocational training, etc.

Speaking at the meeting, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong acknowledged and highly appreciated the consulting unit for researching and proposing the idea of ​​planning the aviation - logistics - service - trade and urban complex of Quang Tri airport to maximize the advantages and potential of the locality, opening up an effective development direction in the future.

The Provincial People's Committee agrees with the planning idea, but requests the consulting unit to absorb the comments of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Tien, departments, branches and units to complete the plans in the spirit of closely following the legal basis, national planning, regional planning and provincial planning to be consistent with the general development orientation.

Emphasizing that good planning will bring good investors, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong requested consultants and investors to note that the planning concept must be feasible and the planning must be realized to create a premise to attract investment.

At the same time, it is necessary to ensure continuous connectivity, without interruption, and should be specifically phased for effective implementation. This planning must ensure that it does not affect people's livelihoods, must create high social consensus, and harmonize socio-economic development and environmental protection.

The consulting unit is requested to promptly complete the reporting plan with the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board to submit to the Provincial People's Committee.
