According to the initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, domestic and foreign tourists who want to enter national parks and nature reserves will need to have a passport. This initiative helps create a mechanism to develop tourism infrastructure in Vietnam's national parks and nature reserves.
On July 11, within the framework of the Public-Private Partnership Forum on Developing Multi-Use Values of Forest Ecosystems, launching the “National Park Passport” initiative in Vietnam, the Department of Forestry (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) and Suntory Pepsico Vietnam signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation to promote large-scale timber plantation, native tree planting combined with medicinal herbs...
The program's goal is to replant and enrich nearly 250 hectares of forest in upstream and protective forests in Vietnam.
In particular, the two sides will cooperate to implement the "national park passport" initiative originating from the idea of Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan.
For the first time in Vietnam, the “national park passport” initiative has been implemented with the aim of creating a mechanism for developing ecotourism in national parks and nature reserves. This mechanism will motivate tourists to experience and explore the values of the forest ecosystem, gradually forming a sustainable financial mechanism to create momentum for national parks and nature reserves to develop tourism infrastructure.
Under the initiative, domestic and foreign tourists wishing to enter national parks must have a passport (paper or electronic). In the first phase, the national park passport will be applied in 34 national parks in the special-use forest system with tourism activities in Vietnam.
