Proposal to support 500 million VND for professors at Hai Phong University

On December 4, at the 21st session of the 16th Hai Phong City People's Council, term 2021-2026, representatives of the Hai Phong City People's Committee presented a Proposal on mechanisms and policies to support, attract, and train highly qualified human resources for Hai Phong University in the period 2024-2030.

According to the proposal, the subjects of application are professors, associate professors, and doctors recruited as lecturers in the fields of technology, port services, logistics, information technology, software, languages ​​(Korean, Japanese), and trade and services.

Hai Phong plans to provide one-time support for lecturers who are professors (domestic and outside the city) of 500 million VND; associate professors 400 million VND; and doctors 300 million VND. Support for lecturers with doctoral degrees who graduated in developed countries is 400 million VND. Lecturers currently working at the school who are sent to study will also receive 200 million VND if they have a doctorate degree or are qualified as professors or associate professors.

All beneficiaries must commit to working at the school for at least 5-6 years from the date of receiving the money. If they do not comply with the assignment, do not complete their tasks for 2 consecutive years, voluntarily quit their job or are disciplined to the extent of being fired, they must pay double the above amount in compensation.

In the 2025-2030 period, Hai Phong plans to spend 25 billion VND for Hai Phong University to attract 4 professors, 4 associate professors, 64 PhDs and send 58 people for training.
