This patient was taken to Thu Phuc General Hospital by his family on the morning of December 15th with a cough, sore throat, chest pain... The family said that Mr. NDK went to take care of his child with lobar pneumonia at a hospital in Quy Nhon City. From December 12th, Mr. NDK started having the above symptoms.

After examination and X-ray, the doctors diagnosed this patient with left lobe pneumonia and required hospitalization for treatment.

"By the morning of December 21, the X-ray results showed that the patient's lungs had recovered well and he is expected to be discharged after about 3 more days of treatment," said Dr. Kieu Van Dung.

According to Dr. Kieu Van Dung, lobar pneumonia is an acute infection, mainly caused by viruses, bacteria or parasites. The disease often occurs in the elderly, children, people with weakened immune systems or people with chronic diseases...

"If lobar pneumonia is not treated promptly, it will cause complications such as lung abscess, collapsed lung, pericarditis, sepsis, meningitis, arthritis... Therefore, when you have symptoms of cough, white phlegm, sore throat, fever, chest pain, shortness of breath, fatigue... you should go to the hospital for examination, especially when you encounter risk factors such as cold weather, respiratory infection season", Dr. Dung recommends.
