Proposal to inspect preschool facilities

The National Committee for Children has just issued an official dispatch requesting the Ministry of Education and Training to direct, review, inspect and examine preschool education facilities, especially non-public facilities.

Timely and strictly handle establishments that violate regulations and rules on organization and operation of a safe, healthy, friendly educational environment and prevention of school violence.

The National Committee for Children also requested the Ministry of Education and Training to strengthen propaganda, dissemination and improve knowledge and skills on preventing child abuse and school violence for managers, teachers and staff in preschools.

According to the National Committee for Children, recently there have been many incidents related to violence and child abuse at private preschools, typically the incident that occurred at a preschool in Phuoc Chanh village, Que My commune, Quy Son district, Quang Nam province; Thu Suong preschool group, An Binh quarter, Tiem Tom town, Ba Tri district, Ben Tre province.

The most recent incident occurred at May Dap Cau Kindergarten, Thi Cau Ward, Bac Ninh City. In this incident, a surveillance camera recorded the teacher carrying the girl into a hidden corner and repeatedly hitting her.

The incident was later verified and clarified by the authorities and the teacher was temporarily suspended from work.
