To continue supporting students affected by storms and floods to stabilize their studies soon, the Ministry of Education and Training recommends that universities and pedagogical colleges pay attention to and prioritize allocating resources to exempt and reduce tuition fees and have financial support policies suitable to each student's circumstances.

Training institutions instruct students to contact local authorities to request confirmation of family's sudden financial difficulties in order to apply for credit loans and support for their studies.

Super Typhoon Yagi and its circulation caused serious damage to human lives and property in the education sector. Sharing the difficulties of students whose families were affected by the storm and floods, many universities decided to extend the tuition payment deadline, provide cash support, and provide temporary accommodation.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics has announced that it will offer 100 scholarships, each worth VND10 million, to disadvantaged students with permanent residence in 26 northern localities directly affected by Typhoon Yagi. In addition, to reduce financial pressure on students in the above 26 provinces and cities and their families during the current difficult time, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics has also extended the tuition payment deadline for the first semester of 2025 to January 15, 2025 instead of November 2024.

The University of Economics and Law (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City) supports 46 million VND for students whose families are affected by storms and floods. Through screening, the school has identified 12 families of students who are severely affected by storm No. 3 and its circulation. The support of 46 million VND is sent to 12 students at the following levels: 2 million VND (7 students), 4 million VND (3 students), 10 million VND (2 students).

Ho Chi Minh City Open University plans to award more than 300 scholarships with a total value of up to 1 billion VND to students in provinces affected by Typhoon Yagi and floods.

National Economics University also decided to support full-time students whose families suffered losses with a support level of 1 million VND/student.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology reported that about 100 students were affected by the storm. The Student Affairs Department and the Youth Union contacted each student to help arrange accommodation in the dormitory, lend laptops, and send food and drinks. For students whose families were severely affected, lecturers will guide them to register for the Tran Dai Nghia scholarship. The scholarship has two levels, equivalent to 50% and 100% of tuition/semester.
