On December 12, the Management Board of Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourist Area said it had sent a document to Lam Dong Provincial Police, requesting consideration, support plans, and additional forces to thoroughly handle dozens of floating houses and rafts illegally "growing" on Tuyen Lam Lake to ensure the landscape and tourism environment at this national tourist area.

Floating houses and fishing rafts ruin the beauty of Tuyen Lam Lake

Previously, as Thanh Nien reported, right on the surface of Tuyen Lam Lake, there are dozens of floating houses and cages of households spontaneously built for fishing, some households even use this place to "settle", affecting the environmental landscape of the Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourist Area (also a scenic spot). The Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee, the People's Committee of Lam Dong Province, and the People's Committee of Da Lat City have repeatedly directed the clearance, but so far it has not been implemented.

The households requested the authorities to consider resettlement arrangements, vocational training and jobs for them to stabilize their lives, as well as to be allowed to stay and stabilize their traditional fishing business, with investment in the direction of combining sightseeing, recreational fishing, selling shrimp, prawn, fish products, etc. that they make. However, according to the People's Committee of Da Lat City, these requests of the households are not in line with the general orientation of the province and the city. As for households that need to change their profession or receive vocational training, the People's Committee of Ward 4 is assigned to proactively contact and compile a list to send to the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs for implementation according to regulations.

Up to now, the authorities have only been able to mobilize the dismantling of 12/36 floating houses and cages.

According to the Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourist Area Management Board, the reason for sending a document "requesting" the police for support is because the process of the unit coordinating with the authorities to handle 36 floating houses and cages on the lake surface, and handling environmental sanitation in the tourist area has not been very effective despite being very active and determined. Up to now, only 12 cases have been mobilized to clear, the remaining cases have not cooperated and are very aggressive, challenging the authorities, at the same time, some elements that stand up to call out and incite are not the owners of floating houses and cages in Tuyen Lam Lake scenic spot.
