Candidates taking the V-SAT 2024 exam at the University of Banking Ho Chi Minh City.
The V-SAT 2025 sample test consists of 8 independent subjects.
In 2025, the National Center for Educational Testing and Quality Assessment will continue to collaborate with universities to organize the V-SAT university entrance assessment exam (V-SAT exam). The results of this exam are expected to be used for admission to nearly 20 universities.
Unlike the previous two years, the 2025 V-SAT exam has been adjusted to better align with the assessment of high school students' competencies under the 2018 General Education Program.
The V-SAT exam is designed to assess candidates' abilities for university admissions purposes. In 2025, this exam will consist of 8 independent subjects corresponding to 7 subjects in the high school curriculum: mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, history, geography, English, and literature. Candidates can choose at least 1 out of 8 subjects depending on their admission preferences for different fields of study at the recruiting institution.
Sample questions for the 8 subjects in the 2025 V-SAT exam can be found here.
The exam is conducted on computers in a multiple-choice format. From 2025, the exam will include a literature subject with a combination of multiple-choice questions and computer-based essay writing.
The exam is conducted on a computer and lasts 90 minutes for mathematics and literature, and 60 minutes for the remaining subjects. The exam includes four question types: true/false multiple-choice questions; objective multiple-choice questions with four options; matching multiple-choice questions; and short-answer or essay questions.
For true/false multiple-choice questions, each question consists of 4 sub-questions. Answering 1/4 of the sub-questions correctly earns 1 point, 2/4 correctly earns 2 points, 3/4 correctly earns 3 points, and 6/4 correctly earns 6 points.
For multiple-choice questions with four options, each correct answer is worth 6 points. For combined multiple-choice questions, each question consists of four sub-questions, with 6 points for each correct answer. For short-answer multiple-choice questions, each correct answer is worth 6 points. The essay in the Literature subject follows the grading guidelines and answer key, with a maximum score of 30 out of 150 points.
