The Law on Consumer Rights Protection, amended and replacing the 2010 Law on Consumer Rights Protection, consists of 7 Chapters and 80 Articles, clearly regulating the principles and policies on consumer rights protection; the rights and obligations of consumers; the responsibilities of business organizations and individuals towards consumers; consumer rights protection activities of agencies and organizations; dispute resolution between consumers and business organizations and individuals; and state management of consumer rights protection.

Regarding the new points of the amended Law on Consumer Protection: The contents and provisions of the Law are amended and completed to ensure practicality and suitability with the current socio-economic development situation and production and business development activities. This is an important legal basis in the work of protecting consumer rights, especially when the role and position of consumers are raised. From there, consumers will feel secure in buying and selling goods and using services in the market, and at the same time change their thinking and habits in choosing addresses and suppliers to purchase goods.
The strictness in the development of regulations in the revised Law on Consumer Protection in 2023 has also encouraged production, business and service enterprises to focus on investing in synchronous production processes; building product brands, increasing competitiveness in the market, and creating trust for customers with quality and reasonable prices.

Based on the provisions of the Law, the Supermarket always seriously implements the transparency of product information, ensuring that products have clear origin and source. Currently, more than 10,000 items of the Supermarket have public information and listed prices in accordance with regulations.
As a state management agency, to bring the Law on Consumer Protection into life, the Department of Industry and Trade continues to strengthen the implementation of propaganda and dissemination activities, organize in-depth training on the Law on Consumer Protection; legal documents detailing the Law to a large number of officials and civil servants working in the field of advising and state management on consumer protection. Thereby, creating consensus in society, improving the effectiveness of law enforcement, and protecting consumer rights.
In addition, the Department coordinates with functional forces to strengthen inspection, monitor compliance with the law and strictly handle violations of the law on consumer rights protection. In July alone, functional agencies discovered and handled 168 cases related to counterfeit goods, counterfeit goods, goods violating intellectual property rights, commercial fraud, etc.
