On the evening of December 17th, the Hanoi People's Committee, in coordination with the Hanoi Small and Medium Enterprises Association, organized the 2023 Thang Long Entrepreneur and Business Recognition Ceremony, with the theme "Towards the 70th Anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024)".
In his opening remarks, Mr. Mac Quoc Anh, Vice Chairman and General Secretary of the Hanoi Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Association, expressed that the event aimed to honor entrepreneurs and businesses with outstanding achievements in production and business and positive contributions to social welfare, thereby promoting the socio-economic development of the Capital city.
Several businesses with established brands, operational scale, and long-standing market presence continue to be recognized for their significant contributions to local economic growth.
Vice President and General Secretary of Hanoisme, Mac Quoc Anh, delivered the opening remarks at the awards ceremony.
"Entrepreneurs and businesses should uphold national pride, business ethics, respect the law, build a corporate culture, maintain integrity in business, fulfill their corporate social responsibility, participate in social welfare programs, and engage in green, clean, beautiful, and sustainable production," Mr. Quoc Anh emphasized.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen said that in recent times, disruptions to the global supply chain have affected Vietnamese businesses, and those in Hanoi in particular.
However, the business community in the capital city has overcome difficulties, strived to rise, and recovered strongly. Gross domestic product in 2023 is estimated to increase by 6.27%, budget revenue will exceed 400 trillion VND, a 20% increase compared to 2022, and total foreign investment is estimated at 2.9 billion USD.
Hanoi currently has 373,000 businesses, which make a significant and continuous contribution to economic growth and maintaining social welfare. The city acknowledges and highly appreciates these efforts.
At the same time, they affirmed their commitment to always stand alongside and serve the people and businesses; and their readiness to improve the investment and business environment, creating favorable conditions and supporting businesses to operate effectively.
Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen delivered a speech at the awards ceremony.
Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen also emphasized that the city requests businesses to continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, mutually beneficial cooperation, courage, intelligence, entrepreneurial spirit, innovation, and creativity; innovate management models and corporate culture; and develop sustainably.
"Promoting the development of digital-based production and business solutions, accelerating digital transformation; applying new scientific and technological advancements in the Fourth Industrial Revolution to improve labor productivity and business efficiency of enterprises."
"We must proactively keep pace with regional and international standards; improve product quality to meet the standards and regulations of the region and advanced countries, and integrate our products more deeply into the global supply chain; and keep up with new international standards and norms. We must respond to the campaign to build a corporate culture, conduct business systematically, and participate in social welfare programs...", Mr. Quyen stated.
At the ceremony, the Hanoi Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Association encouraged businesses to commit to supporting Hanoi's social welfare programs in 2024; and also presented gifts to 10 families receiving preferential treatment.
On behalf of the President and the Prime Minister, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh presented the Third-Class Labor Order and Certificates of Merit to the collectives.
In recognition of the contributions of businesses and entrepreneurs, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hanoi City Tran Sy Thanh awarded the Third-Class Labor Medal to a number of businesses with outstanding achievements.
