In order for the National Highway 28B renovation and upgrading project to be completed on schedule and to effectively utilize investment capital, the Ministry of Construction requests the People's Committees of Lam Dong and Binh Thuan provinces to resolutely direct the districts and functional agencies of the province to focus on removing difficulties and obstacles so that contractors have a clean site for construction.

The project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 28B connecting Binh Thuan with Lam Dong, started in April 2024, with a total investment of more than 1,400 billion VND.

Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee has assigned Duc Trong District People's Committee to urgently direct relevant departments, offices and units to focus on implementing the directions of the Ministry of Construction and the Provincial People's Committee in speeding up the work of compensation, site clearance and handover of the entire route to implement the project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 28B connecting Binh Thuan with Lam Dong.

National Highway 28B is being urgently constructed by units.

Accordingly, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province requested Duc Trong district to propagate and mobilize people to hand over the site early, creating conditions for the renovation and upgrading of National Highway 28B . At the same time, inspect, review and strictly handle cases where construction units arbitrarily cut down trees without permission.

The project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 28B through Binh Thuan and Lam Dong provinces was approved by the Ministry of Construction, aiming to gradually complete the transportation system between the two provinces. At the same time, the route also reduces the risk of traffic accidents, enhances regional connectivity, and meets transportation needs on the East-West corridor connecting the Central Highlands with the Central provinces.

Construction started in April 2024, with a total investment of VND 1,435 billion. To date, the project has completed 20% of its construction, about 6% behind schedule, and is at risk of not being completed in 2025 as required.

According to the Ministry of Construction, the reason for the delay is due to many obstacles. Specifically, in Binh Thuan province, only more than 19km has been handed over (38%), with 31.5km remaining (the compensation plan for land and assets on the land has not been approved, there is no decision on changing the purpose of forest use and the plan for exploiting forest trees).

Meanwhile, in Lam Dong province, only 9km has been officially handed over (53%), with 8km stuck due to the unapproved compensation plan for land and assets on the land.

The project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 28B through Binh Thuan and Lam Dong provinces is about 69 km long. The starting point intersects with National Highway 1 in Bac Binh district, Binh Thuan province, the end point intersects with National Highway 20 in Duc Trong district, Lam Dong province. After renovation and upgrading, National Highway 28B will become a vital route, creating opportunities for socio-economic development , tourism and culture for the area, contributing to improving the lives of people in Binh Thuan and Lam Dong provinces.
