Speed ​​up the progress of the Provincial General Hospital project, to be completed in July 2025

On the afternoon of March 31, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Le Van Dung chaired a meeting with the Department of Health and related departments, agencies and sectors to assess the progress of the Quang Nam Provincial General Hospital Project, and at the same time consider removing some difficulties and obstacles of the Department of Health in implementing tasks and plans for the first quarter of 2025.

Overview of the meeting on the afternoon of March 31

At the meeting, the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board reported on the progress of the projects invested by the unit. For the High-Tech Treatment Area project, the scale is a 7-storey building + 1 attic floor, the construction area is more than 2,200m², the total floor area is nearly 14,180m². The main equipment system includes: medical gas system, operating room sterilization system, test sample transmission system... The total investment after adjustment is nearly 180 billion VND from the provincial budget, implemented in the period 2019-2025. The project of renovating, upgrading and expanding the Provincial General Hospital, the scale of the project is to build a new 5-storey building and attic, the total floor area is about 13,260m². The total investment is 210 billion VND from the provincial budget, implemented in the period 2025-2028.

Currently, the construction package progress is still slow due to problems with procedures for price appraisal, appraisal and approval of estimates as a basis for organizing the procurement and installation of equipment; fire prevention and fighting procedures. As for the medical equipment package, the total investment is about 144 billion VND, invested by the Provincial General Hospital, which has been basically completed and is awaiting handover when the construction project is completed and put into operation.

In his concluding remarks, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung emphasized that the projects of the Provincial General Hospital are key and urgent works, contributing to solving the overload situation of provincial hospitals and improving the quality of medical examination and treatment. However, due to many objective and subjective reasons, the construction progress is still slow, including the lack of determination in implementation and coordination between related units.

To ensure the completion and handover of the project in July 2025, before the implementation of the Quang Nam - Da Nang merger policy, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung requested that investors be determined to speed up the progress. Units need to develop a specific construction roadmap, clearly assign tasks and take responsibility for each task.

In addition, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung also noted the "7-day" principle in coordinating between departments and branches to handle work quickly; at the same time, focusing on preserving and synchronously operating equipment between old and new facilities.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested the Department of Health and related sectors to clarify solutions to ensure policies and regimes for cadres, workers and beneficiaries at social centers after being handed over from the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of the province.
