(Dan Tri) - The Chairman of the People's Council of Da Nang City pointed out this paradox and emphasized that vocational training must move away from just training what schools and facilities have, but must invest in sectors that society needs.
On December 12, at the meeting of the People's Council of Da Nang city, the story of vocational training and job creation received attention from delegates.
Mr. Nguyen Dang Hoang, Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Da Nang, said that currently propaganda work is not strong and people's awareness of vocational training is not high.
Another difficulty is that training equipment for new industries and professions in schools is not yet prepared.

Mr. Ngo Xuan Thang, Chairman of the People's Council of Da Nang City, said that vocational training and job creation always receive great attention from society, especially in the conditions where the city is orienting the development of new industries and fields.
According to Mr. Thang, in addition to policies, administrative procedures, and land, what businesses are most concerned about when entering Da Nang is whether they can find local human resources that meet their requirements.
Mr. Thang believes that vocational training must move away from just training what is available, but must invest in sectors that society needs, investing in facilities, program content, and even teachers.
"Teaching motorbike and car repair only focuses on vehicles from 2000-2010 while people now drive new generation vehicles. The other day, a delegate cited that training in mobile phone repair only focuses on repairing iPhone 10 and below while consumers are already using iPhone 15 and 16. How can students learn the job?", Mr. Thang raised the issue.
The Chairman of the People's Council of Da Nang City also commented that the city's job promotion work "has not been thorough", especially in orienting and mobilizing students who failed the 10th grade exam.
The Chairman of the People's Council of Da Nang City asked why 90% of soldiers returning from the army chose to go to driving school and explained that this profession allows them to work immediately after finishing the course, while other professions that schools train in still cannot be used.
"The important issue is orientation and preparation for vocational training. In the near future, along with innovation, the city will welcome larger industries and fields. The vocational education sector will focus on specific focal points, helping to orient training and prepare human resources, especially high-quality human resources, more appropriately," Mr. Thang informed.
