The concept of "Digital Mass Education" is a new term, stemming from the practical requirements of the country's comprehensive digital transformation process. While "Mass Education" in the early years of the revolution aimed at eradicating illiteracy, "Digital Mass Education" today focuses on eradicating technological illiteracy and digital skills, enabling all citizens to access, use, and apply digital technology in their studies, work, and daily lives.
Accordingly, the movement focuses on popularizing knowledge and skills in using technological devices, applying online public services, participating in e-commerce, protecting personal information on the internet, and raising awareness of a safe cyberspace. The beneficiaries include all citizens who wish to learn, with special priority given to vulnerable groups such as the elderly, ethnic minorities, and unskilled workers.
From the beginning of March 2025 until now, the Vietnam Youth Union of the province has organized many campaigns, directly implementing activities to popularize digital skills to more than 500 people in the province. These classes are flexibly organized at village cultural centers, schools, and community spaces, making it easy for people to access, practice, and interact directly with youth instructors.
Simultaneously, the Youth Union branches in districts, cities, and affiliated units have joined the effort, with numerous activities to disseminate information and provide digital skills training to over 2,000 young people and citizens. The content is designed to be simple, easy to understand, and easy to apply, such as: instructions on using VNeID, registering for public services, learning how to sell on e-commerce platforms, using e-wallets, and identifying fake news on social media.
One of the highlights of the movement is that the Provincial Association has directed its subordinate branches to establish "Digital Literacy Teams" at each local branch. Each team consists of young people with good technological knowledge and skills, who act as both instructors and companions for people in familiarizing themselves with digital devices and the internet. Many young people have proactively shared their knowledge, organized small classes at home, and utilized their free time to support the community.
Ms. Thai Thi Hoan, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Union of the province, shared: “The implementation of the 'Digital Literacy Movement' not only contributes to narrowing the digital divide between regions, but also promotes the pioneering and creative role of youth in the technological age. We have identified this as a key and continuous task in the 2025-2027 period and will continue to expand the scope and improve the quality of classes to help people use technology effectively and safely.”
Beyond simply popularizing the use of electronic devices, the Provincial Association has also deployed teams to its subordinate branches to guide people on how to conduct electronic transactions, search for medical and administrative information, and use agricultural software applications tailored to the specific characteristics of each area. Particularly in mountainous regions where infrastructure is limited, young people also act as "mobile technicians," helping people install software and troubleshoot equipment problems.

It is evident that the "Digital Literacy Movement" is gradually breathing new life into the community. The enthusiastic participation of young people has created a positive effect, contributing to raising the level of technological literacy and gradually forming the habit of using digital technology proactively and effectively.
In the coming period, the Vietnam Youth Union of Kon Tum province will continue to direct its branches at all levels to expand the scale of training courses, diversify communication methods, and coordinate with technology companies, schools, and government agencies to create a sustainable support network. These activities will not only contribute to building a digital society and digital citizens, but also affirm the important role of Kon Tum youth in the national digital transformation.
