DTO - On the morning of April 24, at the Provincial Party Committee hall, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee held an extraordinary meeting of the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee to review and give opinions on a number of contents according to the Working Regulations of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, term XI, 2020 - 2025. Comrade Le Quoc Phong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee chaired the meeting.

Attending the conference were comrades: Ho Thuy Hien - Deputy Head of Department III of Local Affairs, Central Organizing Committee; Phan Van Thang - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Secretary of the Party Committee of the provincial Party agencies; Tran Tri Quang - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Acting Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; members of the Provincial Party Committee; members of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee.

At the conference, the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee announced the Decision of the Central Party Secretariat on personnel work. Accordingly, the Central Party Secretariat decided to approve comrade Phan Van Hop - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Permanent Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission to hold the position of Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission for the 2020-2025 term. At the same time, it decided to approve comrade Bui Thanh Tien - Chief of Office of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission to join the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission for the 2020-2025 term.

Authorized by the Party Central Committee Secretariat, Comrade Le Quoc Phong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee (middle) presented the Decision of approval and presented flowers to congratulate Comrade Phan Van Hop (left cover) and Comrade Bui Thanh Tien.

According to the conference agenda, delegates focused on discussing the contents of the reports of the Provincial Party Committee on: Project on rearranging commune-level administrative units in Dong Thap province; Project on ending the activities of district and city party committees under the province and establishing commune and ward party committees under the Provincial Party Committee; draft Project on rearranging Tien Giang and Dong Thap provinces; implementing Directive No. 45 dated April 14, 2025 of the Politburo on Party congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Congress of the Party. Accordingly, Dong Thap province has a total of 141 commune-level administrative units (including 114 communes, 18 wards and 9 towns). After implementing the arrangement according to the draft Project on rearranging commune-level administrative units in Dong Thap province, Dong Thap province will have a total of 45 commune-level administrative units (including 7 wards and 38 communes); Reduced 96 administrative units at commune and ward levels, reaching 68.09%, ensuring the direction of the Central Government.

Discussing at the conference, delegates agreed with the draft Project on rearranging commune-level administrative units in Dong Thap province and the content of the submissions. In addition, delegates proposed that the Provincial Party Committee should soon issue guidelines for the arrangement of cadres for new units after the rearrangement so that localities have a basis for implementing the regulations. After discussion, the members of the Provincial Party Committee voted unanimously to approve the content of the submissions at the conference.

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Le Quoc Phong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee acknowledged the contributions of the delegates. At the same time, he emphasized that the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in the province is carried out based on many factors and approaches such as: geographical location, historical traditions, new development space for units after the merger... to choose the most optimal solution, aiming at the common goal for stronger development of the locality in the coming time.

The Provincial Party Secretary requested that the members of the Provincial Party Committee, the standing committees of the district and city Party Committees continue to lead and direct the work of propaganda, mobilization and information so that people of all walks of life can better understand the plan to implement the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in the province in order to create high consensus and unity among the people, ensuring the stable development of society. In addition, localities need to be proactive in reviewing, evaluating, arranging and mobilizing cadres in a harmonious and reasonable manner; prepare appropriate personnel plans to operate the apparatus after the arrangement to ensure smoothness and efficiency.
