Strengthening propaganda on fire prevention and fighting and search and rescue in schools

Disseminating knowledge and skills in fire prevention and escape in the event of a fire is a practical measure to raise public awareness and responsibility in fire prevention, firefighting, and rescue operations. With this in mind, the Son La Provincial Police have collaborated with schools in the area to intensify awareness campaigns, experiential learning, and practical training for staff, teachers, and students.

At Quyet Thang Secondary School in Son La City, over 1,000 students and teachers participated in experiential and practical activities on fire prevention and rescue. Firefighting police officers provided information on the fire situation and the causes of recent fires; guided participants on measures to ensure fire safety at home and school; taught how to handle fire incidents; and provided escape skills in case of fire.

Le Nam Hai, a student in class 8B at Quyet Thang Secondary School, Son La City: During today's field trip, I understood more about the work of firefighters. I greatly admire them for not hesitating to risk their lives to save people from fires.

Le Ngoc Anh, a student in class 8G at Quyet Thang Secondary School, Son La City: Through this experience, I find this very useful now and in the future, should I ever encounter an unexpected situation.

Schools are crowded places, and students are easily panicked in the event of a fire or explosion. Therefore, strengthening fire prevention and firefighting awareness campaigns at these schools is crucial, helping staff, teachers, and students raise their awareness of fire safety and minimize damage in the event of a fire or explosion. On March 15th and 16th, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department simultaneously organized experiential activities and awareness campaigns at schools throughout the province, attracting thousands of students and teachers.

Mr. Vu Tien Hung, Deputy Principal of Quyet Thang Secondary School, Son La City: The school's management board will direct teachers to integrate soft skills and fire safety awareness into lessons so that students can apply them in their daily lives.

In the coming period, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department will continue to focus on propaganda work in schools, raising the sense of responsibility of each individual regarding fire safety in daily activities. This will help to spread and promote the role and responsibility of each citizen, and strengthen the movement of all citizens participating in fire prevention and control in the community and society.
