Towards the 70th anniversary of the signing of the Geneva Agreement on the cessation of hostilities in Vietnam (July 21, 1954 - July 21, 2024), the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department has issued an official dispatch guiding propaganda work in the province.
Accordingly, the propaganda content focuses on the following contents:
Affirming the correct and wise leadership of our Party, headed by President Ho Chi Minh , in the resistance war against French colonialists and American intervention; affirming the victory of the consistent foreign policy of independence and self-reliance for the interests of the nation and people.
International and domestic context leading to the 1954 Geneva Conference; Vietnam's preparation process; the role of participating parties and participants.
The developments and results of the Geneva Conference, the basic content of the Agreement; the reasons for the victory and the significance of this Agreement for the struggle for independence, freedom, unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Vietnam and for national liberation movements in the world; affirming that the Geneva Agreement on the cessation of hostilities in Vietnam has gone down in history, together with the Preliminary Agreement of March 6, 1946 and the Paris Agreement of 1973, have become the three most important diplomatic documents in the two resistance wars against the French colonialists and the invading American imperialists of our nation; the Agreement is an important diplomatic victory in the first multilateral international negotiation that Vietnam participated in; creating a legal basis for the later struggle, especially in the negotiations with the US at the Paris Conference on Vietnam.
Lessons learned from the negotiation and signing of the Geneva Agreement on the cessation of hostilities in Vietnam and the application of those lessons in the current cause of innovation, construction and protection of the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.
Honor and express gratitude for the great contributions of all classes of people to Vietnam's diplomacy, especially the members of the Delegation and the officers and soldiers who served Vietnam's diplomatic struggle at the Geneva Conference. Focus on promoting the sincere support and assistance of international friends to the just struggle for independence and freedom of the Vietnamese people and in the cause of international integration and innovation.
The Party's foreign policy, State diplomacy and people's diplomacy of Vietnam: independence, self-reliance, peace , friendship, cooperation and development, multilateralization, diversification, proactive and active international integration, for the national and ethnic interests; promoting internal strength, exploiting and taking advantage of external strength, creating a combined strength in the cause of national construction, development and defense; the great achievements of Vietnamese diplomacy in the past 7 years, especially in nearly 40 years of implementing the national renewal policy initiated and led by the Party; associated with the propaganda of the content of the book by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on building and developing a comprehensive and modern Vietnamese foreign policy, diplomacy imbued with the identity of "Vietnamese bamboo".
Fight against and refute wrong, distorted, and denying viewpoints and arguments that deny the results and historical significance of the Geneva Agreement, deny the leadership role of Dang and President Ho Chi Minh in the victory of Vietnamese diplomacy and our country's current foreign policy.
Through propaganda to express gratitude and honor the great contributions and dedication of all classes of people who have made the glorious victory of diplomacy in particular and the Vietnamese revolution in general; to consolidate and enhance the cooperative relations, support and assistance of the people and international friends for the cause of innovation, industrialization and modernization of the country and the just struggle to protect the independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the Fatherland...
