Promote foreign information, propaganda on seas, islands, demarcation and marker planting

On the afternoon of December 21, in Hanoi, the Central Propaganda Department held a national conference to review foreign information work, propaganda on seas and islands, demarcation, marker planting and land border management in 2023, and deploy tasks for 2024.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Head of the Steering Committee for External Information Work attended and directed the Conference. At the 2023 review conference, with the attention and close direction of the Politburo and the Secretariat; the active coordination and implementation of tasks by central and local ministries, branches and sectors; and the efforts of the entire force, the work of foreign information and propaganda on seas, islands, demarcation, marker planting and land border management has achieved many positive results, completing the set goals and requirements, effectively contributing to the overall socio-economic development achievements of the whole country in 2023 and the first half of the term of implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.

In particular, the work of advising, leading, directing and orienting information has been carried out proactively and promptly; the coordination between agencies and units has become increasingly close and synchronous; the implementation of tasks in practice has many innovations and creativity in content and form, bringing high efficiency. The key contents that have been persistently propagated and communicated abroad are the Party's policies and guidelines in all fields, socio-economic development achievements of 2023 as well as the half-term implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress; history, tradition, image of the country, people, culture, values, and noble thoughts of the Vietnamese people.

Provide full and comprehensive information on important political and foreign affairs events of the country, especially visits and phone calls by key leaders of the Party and State; continue to widely inform, in many languages, about the content of the book by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, which has received great attention from the public, friends and international media; promote the prestige and international position of Vietnam, which are constantly being enhanced through bilateral and multilateral foreign affairs activities; effectively inform and respond to incidents arising related to the situation of seas, islands and borders; promote propaganda about achievements in ensuring human rights in the first year Vietnam assumed the role of a member of the United Nations Human Rights Council; increase information about the lives of overseas Vietnamese, charitable activities of the Vietnamese community and contributions to national construction...

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, speaking at the conference, comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia highly appreciated the results of foreign information work, propaganda on seas, islands and borders in 2023 as well as the first half of the term of implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress; commended the proactiveness, creativity and efforts to overcome both subjective and objective difficulties of the central and local ministries, branches and news agencies to successfully complete their tasks, contributing to the common achievements of the country.

The Head of the Central Propaganda Department emphasized that 2024 will still face many difficulties and challenges, requiring foreign information work, propaganda on seas and islands, demarcation, marker planting and border management to more thoroughly grasp the Party's guidelines, especially the Resolution of the 13th National Congress, the conclusions at the Central conferences, and the relevant directives of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong; continue to put the guiding viewpoints, tasks and solutions of Conclusion No. 57-KL/TW dated June 15, 2023 of the Politburo on continuing to improve the quality and effectiveness of foreign information work in the new situation into practice to implement the tasks. In addition, the content of information and propaganda needs to be complete and comprehensive but must have a focus and key points; innovate the methods of propaganda and foreign information in a modern direction, keeping up with international media trends; Effectively utilize existing resources, actively seek and flexibly increase resources to implement tasks...

Also at the conference, the Central Propaganda Department awarded Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in foreign information work; propaganda on seas and islands and demarcation, marker planting, and land border management in 2023.
