In order to promote the value of books and reading culture in the education and training system, Tay Ninh Provincial Library has organized many meaningful activities, contributing to building a cultural and spiritual life, and promoting the moral values and tradition of studiousness of the nation.
At Long Giang Secondary School in Ben Cau district, the Provincial Library, in collaboration with the Ben Cau District Cultural, Sports and Broadcasting Center, organized the "Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day".
Students enthusiastically chose books to read at the provincial library's mobile reading service.
During the program, students listened to a discussion about books and the benefits of reading, helping them gain a deeper understanding of exemplary individuals who loved reading and self-learning during the Ho Chi Minh era. This allowed them to learn from and emulate these role models, contributing to the spread of a love of books and reading culture throughout society. In addition, they gained knowledge through a quiz and received meaningful gifts.

The event also included a book cover design competition. Teams were free to create their own designs, ensuring the book covers included the book title, author's name, publisher, and publication year. The competition took place in a lively and joyful atmosphere. Through the competition, the children practiced teamwork, coordinated smoothly, and worked together to complete their works successfully.
Do Nhu Huynh, a student in class 8A2 at Long Giang Secondary School in Ben Cau district, shared: “The provincial library has provided us with many good and meaningful books suitable for our age group. The questions in the interactive session of the program helped me learn more about history and geography.”

“Modern life means that students like us read very little, instead using electronic devices like laptops, smartphones, and televisions… so I find the mobile book service very meaningful. It helps us develop a reading habit, and from there, we can love our homeland and country even more through each page of a book,” said Nguyen Nhi, a student in class 8A2, Long Giang Secondary School, Ben Cau district.
In addition, the Provincial Library also organizes mobile book services at many schools throughout the province; coordinates book exhibitions at the thematic talk "The Heroic Spirit of the Nation, Continuing the Glorious History of the Great Victory of Spring 1975" to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) at the auditorium of the 5th Division; introduces books at the auditorium of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Tay Ninh Provincial Police; coordinates book exhibitions to celebrate major national holidays; implements a plan to provide mobile multimedia library services in Binh Phuoc province under the Cooperation and Development Program between Binh Phuoc and Tay Ninh provinces for the period 2023-2025 in the library sector…
Many activities contribute to the development of reading culture.
At the Provincial Library, books are displayed monthly according to themes and topics related to major holidays throughout the year. In April, the book collection features a wide variety of books with rich content, such as: books promoting the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws; books by President Ho Chi Minh and other Party and State leaders; books on the history, economics, politics, culture, society, security, and national defense of the country and the province; books showcasing the beauty of the culture and people of the province's ethnic groups; books for teaching and learning in schools, children's comics, etc., serving the needs of all segments of the population.

The unit continues to circulate books and newspapers to local libraries, border guard posts, and militia checkpoints. This is an annual activity of the unit, aimed at supplementing book titles, refreshing the book collection, contributing to diversifying the book sources for border guard posts, and better meeting the needs for reading, studying, entertainment, and enhancing the knowledge and cultural life of officers and soldiers.
In addition, the Provincial Library also carries out many activities such as coordinating with Tay Ninh Radio and Television Station to promote and introduce books about Tay Ninh province through the audio program "Connecting Knowledge," broadcast on FM 103.1MHZ. It also strengthens the sharing, exploitation, and use of the Provincial Library's e-books and digital resources for district-level libraries to serve readers who need to access and use them online through various network infrastructures (website, Zalo, Facebook, etc.).

Ms. Pham Thi Cam Nhung, Deputy Director in charge of the Provincial Library, said: “The Provincial Library has implemented many activities to develop a reading culture in the community. The unit has coordinated the promotion and introduction of books through mobile service sessions at 11 schools inside and outside the province, especially in remote, border areas, and 6 schools in Binh Phuoc province. Simultaneously, the Provincial Library displayed and provided books on the ground floor of the Provincial Public Administration Service Center from April 14-22, 2025, attracting a large number of people to visit and read.”

Thousands of books on diverse subjects are provided to students, contributing to the enhancement of knowledge in this era of booming information technology; in coordination with the armed forces, books are donated and circulated to militia posts and checkpoints… The activities of the Provincial Library not only provide an interesting and beneficial cultural space for book lovers, but also create conditions for officials, civil servants, teachers, students and people in the province to pay more attention to reading culture, enhance knowledge, and serve their work, studies and research.”
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued a plan to organize the fourth Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2025, taking place from April 15 to May 2 nationwide, with many activities to promote reading culture and spread the values of books and reading. In order to contribute to the implementation of the Party and State's policies on developing reading culture; to implement the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress on building and promoting the cultural values and human strength of Vietnam; and to affirm the position, role, and importance of books in enhancing knowledge, skills, developing thinking, education, and character building. This is also an annual event aimed at encouraging and developing the reading movement; discovering and honoring reading culture in the community, contributing to building a system of cultural values and human standards for Vietnamese people. |
