Right from the beginning of the 2020 - 2025 term, based on the plans and instructions of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee on researching, compiling, propagating and educating Party history for the period 2021 - 2025 and Project No. 10 dated December 9, 2020 on "Improving the effectiveness of political and ideological work, propaganda and mobilization in Bao Yen district for the period 2020 - 2025" of the XXII District Party Executive Committee, Bao Yen District Party Committee issued plans and official dispatches to lead and direct the work of researching, compiling, propagating and educating Party history and traditional history in the district.
Up to now, the district Party Committee and 100% of the commune and town Party Committees in the area have completed the compilation and publication of local Party history. The products that have been and are being published all ensure Party character, scientific nature in research, collection, combativeness, ideology and are in line with the direction of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department.
The new feature is that, from the history of the district Party Committee, the Propaganda Department of the District Party Committee has compiled a document on Party history to be used in Party cells, affiliated Party Committees, educational institutions and the District Political Center. Similarly, based on the history of the Party Committees of communes and towns, the Propaganda Department has directed the Party Committees to compile and shorten it into a document on Party history propaganda and education to be used as propaganda documents in affiliated Party cells and educational institutions in the locality.
In 2024, the Propaganda Department of Bao Yen District Party Committee is developing the District Party Committee Documents, Volume 1, period 1965 - 1985. Currently, the editorial team is collecting documents. According to the plan, the Party Committee history of the communes of Xuan Hoa, Thuong Ha, Minh Tan, Bao Ha, Vinh Yen, Nghia Do, Viet Tien, and Phuc Khanh will continue to be republished this year. The District Party Committee directs the Party Committees of the agency bloc to collect documents, research, and compile the Party Committee history, the traditional history of the agencies and units, including: History of the District Military Party Committee (1965 - 2020); History of the Health Party Committee; History of the District Police Party Committee; and Proceedings of the District People's Council. In particular, the History of Pho Rang Town Party Committee (reprint) will be launched on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Pho Rang Victory (June 22, 1949 - June 22, 2024).
In Lao Cai city, with the close leadership and direction of the City Party Committee in promoting research and compilation of Party history, traditions of sectors, agencies and units, the number of historical books and yearbooks published and distributed has increased in both quantity and quality.
From 2018 to present, Lao Cai City Party Committee has completed and published the book History of Lao Cai City Party Committee (1950 - 2020); Lao Cai City Party Committee Documents Volume 1 (1950 - 1979); Proceedings of the workshop "Lao Cai City 30 years of re-establishment, construction, integration and development (1992 - 2022)"; photo book "Lao Cai City - Typical events, images, examples (1992 - 2022)"; document "Education on history, traditions, culture, people of Lao Cai City".
In 2024, Lao Cai City Party Committee is completing the steps to publish the book History of Lao Cai City from 1907 to 2022. With the publication of this book, Lao Cai City is the first unit in the province to implement writing local history.
The Party Committees of communes, wards, agencies and units of the city have also actively researched, compiled and published Party history and traditional books. Up to now, only Thong Nhat commune has not published its Party history, because it was newly established under Resolution No. 896 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units in Lao Cai province. There are 2 units that have completed the publication of the yearbook, which are the City Party Committee Inspection Committee and the City Party Committee - Mass Organizations. 4 units have completed the publication of historical books of the industry, including: City Police Party Committee; Party Cell of the City Department of Education and Training; Party Cell of City High School No. 1 and the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.
In 2024, the Military Party Committee, the Health Party Committee, the City Women's Union, and the Lao Cai City Youth Union are collecting documents and preparing conditions to write the Party's history and industry traditions.
Not only in Bao Yen district and Lao Cai city, up to now, 13/13 party committees under the Provincial Party Committee have completed the compilation of party committee history; 40/70 departments, branches and sectors of the province have completed the compilation of history and tradition (reaching 57%); 130/152 communes, wards and towns have completed the compilation of party committee history (reaching 85.5%).
Typically, in Van Ban district, 22/22 commune party committees have completed research, compilation, and publication of grassroots party committee histories; 10 agencies and units have compiled industry traditions. Van Ban district has completed 2 years earlier than the target of Project 17-DA/TU of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee on "Improving the effectiveness of political, ideological, propaganda, and mobilization work in Lao Cai province in the period of 2021 - 2025".
According to the assessment of the Provincial Party Committee, the work of researching and compiling Party history has been actively implemented by all levels and sectors in recent times; the quality of publications has been increasingly improved. The above-mentioned outstanding results originated from the Provincial Party Committee's issuance of Directive No. 40 on "Strengthening and improving the quality of researching, compiling, disseminating and educating Party history in the province".
