David Beckham reveals plan to tie Messi to Inter Miami and American football

"We want to keep Messi for a long time to continue to help American football develop, attract more top stars to play. We really want Messi to be a part of our club, contributing ideas to develop the team like any other team in the MLS. I think this will bring a lot of joy to Messi as well as to myself," David Beckham shared in a recent interview with The Times (UK).

Messi's contract with Inter Miami is for two and a half years (until December 2025) with an option to extend for another year. This deal also ensures that the Argentine star will receive shares in Inter Miami after his retirement.

This also means that when Messi ends his career, he will continue to be associated with Inter Miami in a new role, possibly as one of the team's co-owners. Inter Miami currently has 3 co-owners: David Beckham and 2 businessmen who are brothers, Jorge and Jose Mas.
