"We want to keep Messi for a long time to continue to help American football develop, attract more top stars to play. We really want Messi to be a part of our club, contributing ideas to develop the team like any other team in the MLS. I think this will bring a lot of joy to Messi as well as to myself," David Beckham shared in a recent interview with The Times (UK).

Messi's contract with Inter Miami is for two and a half years (until December 2025) with an option to extend for another year. This deal also ensures that the Argentine star will receive shares in Inter Miami after his retirement.
This also means that when Messi ends his career, he will continue to be associated with Inter Miami in a new role, possibly as one of the team's co-owners. Inter Miami currently has 3 co-owners: David Beckham and 2 businessmen who are brothers, Jorge and Jose Mas.
"It was an incredible experience for me to stand on stage as the owner of the team that Messi plays for, and present him with his eighth Ballon d'Or. Since Messi arrived at Inter Miami, every morning at 7am I have been at the training ground just to watch him train. I love watching Messi come onto the pitch, do his training moves professionally and guide the young players. Messi is a superstar, but the most humble superstar. And I just love watching him train. Anyone who has ever interacted with or been close to Messi knows that he is different and very special," David Beckham expressed.

Messi has now completed his 2023 tournaments, he will stay in Miami for a while before returning to Argentina for Christmas and New Year, before returning to the US from the beginning of 2024 to train for the new season.
