Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has just approved the proposal of the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province to invest in the construction of an urban expressway connecting directly from Long Thanh International Airport to Ho Tram. This is an urgent task to meet the socio-economic development requirements of the locality.

Improve transportation network, promote tourism development

Investment in this traffic route plays an important role in completing the province's external traffic network, contributing to regional connectivity and strongly developing the tourism and service industry towards international standards.

When Long Thanh airport is officially put into operation, this expressway will become a traffic artery, helping to shorten travel time and increase convenience for domestic and foreign tourists to Ho Tram area in particular and Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in general.

Not only stopping at developing tourism, this highway also promotes socio-economic growth in the areas through which the route passes.

In particular, the connection between Long Thanh airport and Ho Tram will create a great driving force for the urbanization process, promoting the development of new urban areas, industrial parks, services and trade. This will contribute positively to the province's budget revenue, aiming for double-digit economic growth in the coming time.

The investment in the construction of a new urban expressway not only opens up space for modern urban development but also contributes to the effective implementation of the national tourism planning. With the advantage of marine economic potential, Xuyen Moc district and coastal localities will have the opportunity to develop more strongly, exploiting the maximum value of tourism and high-class services, contributing to enhancing the competitiveness of Ba Ria - Vung Tau on the international tourism map.

According to the proposal of the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, the expressway connecting Long Thanh airport to Ho Tram will have its starting point connecting with the Ring Road 4 - Ho Chi Minh City project (at Km 8+00) in Chau Duc district and its ending point connecting with the coastal road Vung Tau - Binh Thuan (in Xuyen Moc district). The total length of the entire route is 41 km, built completely new with a scale of 4 complete expressway lanes (planned for 6 lanes), designed speed of 100 km/h.

The total estimated investment for this expressway is about 17,000 billion VND, of which the cost of site clearance is up to 4,500 billion VND. This is not a small number but completely worthy of the economic development potential that this route brings.

When the expressway is completed, not only Ba Ria - Vung Tau province but also the entire southern region will benefit from the synchronous connectivity, helping to improve the competitiveness of the tourism, service, industry and logistics sectors.

Positive impact on socio-economy

In addition to contributing to the completion of transport infrastructure, this expressway also creates a series of positive impacts on the development of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province and neighboring areas. More convenient traffic not only helps improve the efficiency of transporting goods but also promotes investment in industrial parks and export processing zones, contributing to job creation and improving people's lives.

In addition, the formation of this route will boost real estate values in areas along the route, especially in Xuyen Moc and Chau Duc districts. Real estate, tourism and service investors will have the opportunity to expand their operations, bringing long-term revenue to the province.

Another important factor is that this expressway will help attract foreign investment, especially in the fields of high-end resort tourism, ecological urban areas and large-scale entertainment complexes. With a strategic location between Long Thanh International Airport and Ho Tram tourist area, this route will help enhance the value of Ba Ria - Vung Tau tourism brand, create close regional connections, and promote sustainable development.

The Long Thanh - Ho Tram Expressway project is not only expected to bring economic benefits but is also designed towards sustainable development. Criteria on environmental protection and minimizing impacts on natural ecosystems, especially coastal areas, will be given top priority.

In addition, the application of advanced technology in the construction and operation of expressways also helps optimize costs and increase the life of the project.

The development of this expressway is also linked to green economic development policies, including the use of environmentally friendly materials, planning green areas along the road to reduce emissions and negative impacts on the ecosystem. At the same time, local authorities will have specific policies to protect residential areas, avoiding uncontrolled urbanization causing imbalances in sustainable development planning.

The expressway project connecting Long Thanh airport with Ho Tram promises to create a breakthrough in the development of regional transport infrastructure. This will be a solid foundation for Ba Ria - Vung Tau to not only reach out domestically but also affirm its position on the economic and tourism development map of Southeast Asia.

When the project is completed, not only the tourism industry but also the province's economy will have a strong transformation, opening up many new opportunities for people and businesses.
