At the end of March, the youth of Ho Chi Minh City and Tay Ninh together made a special journey towards the southwestern border of the Fatherland in Ben Cau district, Tay Ninh province. The program was called “Border, sea and islands in my heart”.

The program is a concrete activity of the movement "I love my Fatherland" with the key contents of "City Youth towards the border, sea, and islands" in the period of 2022-2027, the program "March on the border", "Border affection". This is also a meaningful activity to celebrate the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2025), the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), major holidays, important events of the Party, the country and the youth in 2025 of the City's youth.

Every place you visit brings with you practical works and projects, contributing to supporting officers, soldiers, people and children in border areas.

“The border and islands in my heart” is not only a journey of youth but also a sharing, a noble gesture of youth for compatriots and soldiers on the front line to protect the Fatherland. Many practical works and tasks have been implemented, bringing hope for a better future for the border areas such as: “Education for the masses”; free medical examination and medicine distribution; building houses for disadvantaged children, giving gifts to militia and self-defense soldiers, border guards; awarding Vu A Dinh scholarships to children who have overcome difficulties and excelled in their studies... All have contributed to taking care of social security, improving the material and spiritual life of people in the border areas.

In addition, the journey "Borders and islands in my heart" also has a profound meaning ineducating patriotism and responsibility for the Fatherland for union members and young people. Activities such as offering incense at the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Volunteers Memorial Site (Long Phuoc Commune, Ben Cau District), saluting the flag at the Moc Bai International Border Gate, and learning about milestone 171 have aroused national pride and a sense of responsibility among the young generation of Ho Chi Minh City and Tay Ninh in preserving and protecting the Fatherland.

In particular, the young people of the city named after Uncle Ho also brought the art music night “Borders, islands in my heart” to the people of Ben Cau border area. The program was staged and performed by artists, beauty queens, runners-up, models, and actors in the Ho Chi Minh City Artist Volunteer Team. Among them were famous artists who have made many contributions to volunteer art performances such as singer Phuong Thanh, MC Quynh Hoa, actress Tuyet Thu, etc.

The vibrant art performance program included many unique and impressive performances such as singing and dancing, fashion shows, and circus performances. With the spirit of performing with all their heart, the young volunteer artists and people from the border areas joined in the vibrant youth rhythm, songs about love for the homeland, the country, and soldiers in the border and island areas.

The series of activities in that meaningful journey left a good impression in the hearts of the people in the border area of ​​Ben Cau district.

Mr. Huynh Thien Khiem - Secretary of Ben Cau District Youth Union shared that the Vietnam Youth Union of the district is very happy to receive the connection from the Vietnam Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City to bring meaningful and practical works and projects to people and soldiers in the border communes.

These meaningful activities have helped officers, soldiers and people in the border area have a better life, work with peace of mind, protect the border and border security in Ben Cau district. Through the program, officers, union members and youth of the two units have the opportunity to exchange, learn experiences and strengthen solidarity, together building a secure, prosperous and civilized border area.

The journey “Borders and islands in my heart” has ended, but the mark that the program left on the Tay Ninh border area will remain forever. The works and tasks of Ho Chi Minh City youth not only help people and border guards but also demonstrate the spirit of solidarity and responsibility towards the community.

Mr. Mai Huu Tam - Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union shared that this is the second time that Ho Chi Minh City youth has carried out the journey "Borders, islands in my heart" in the border area to Tay Ninh. The program was implemented with many projects and youth works worth more than 600 million VND. This is the effort of the city's youth and accompanying units to bring meaningful and good things to people in the border area.

Tay Ninh is the province with the longest border with Cambodia in our country; has a key geographical position in protecting national security; and is a locality with close connections to Ho Chi Minh City in trade and economic development. Therefore, the journey "Border, sea and islands in my heart" in the border area to Tay Ninh is an opportunity for the city's youth union members to understand more about the border area and the lives of the people here.

The trip is not only a volunteer journey but also an opportunity for union members and young people to promote their pioneering and volunteer role in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
