The work “Dat oi no hoa” performed by Meritorious Artist Hoang Tung, arranged by musician Duc Thuy, brings listeners back to memories, back to mother, back to the sacred land. There is also a harmony between national memories and aspirations to rise together.
“Dat oi no hoa” by musician Nguyen Thanh Trung is written in the folk lyrical genre with the arrangement of musician Duc Thuy, the sound of the monochord throughout the song and the heartfelt, soulful lyrics of Meritorious Artist Hoang Tung about the image of mother singing lullabies, folk songs, rice fields, bowls of rice water, soapberry… extremely simple but very close to the children of Vietnam, creating emotions that gradually rise from gentle memories to a strong and bright climax.
And then came the gentle lyrics: "I love my homeland, I share the sweet and the bitter / People sing loudly / Let's hold hands and reach out / Oh country... why do I love this country so much / I love the blooming country!" .

Most of the musical sentences have a simple rhythm, soft melody, falling slightly at the end of the sentence, creating a feeling like a lullaby, a story - reminiscent of folk songs of the North and Central regions. Some sentences have the intonation of ho, vi giam, expressed through light emphasis, long reverberation, the song's melody closely follows the tones of the pentatonic scale, creating a characteristic national color like deep echoes in the flesh and blood.
Musician Nguyen Thanh Trung shared that he put many symbolic images of the country into the song “Dat oi no hoa” with the intention of creating a living organism that can converse and love, as through the calls “Dat oi”, “Nuoc oi”. Each sentence seems to contain the Vietnamese soul, told in poetic and musical language, gentle but profound, rustic but rich in inner strength.
The system of metaphorical images is both familiar to everyday life and rich in poetry and cultural depth. The metaphors connect the individual with the community, the past with the present, emotions with aspirations. Therefore, the song evokes the traditional cultural flow from ancient times that still resonates today, like a thread connecting the past and the present.
And there, “Oh, blossoming land” is not only a personal joy, but also a collective harmony, when the whole people share the same patriotic heart. The image of “blossoming” is also an emotional climax, as an affirmation of the common dream of the nation. Love for the country is not only a nostalgia for the past but also a hope for a vibrant future.
Listening to “The Country Blossoms” or many other songs written by musician Nguyen Thanh Trung about the Fatherland and homeland, we can see that the country with more than four thousand years of civilization will forever exist and shine forever. Every Vietnamese person, no matter what they do or where they are, continues to contribute to the independence and development of the country, contributing to the development of the country, to rise up and rise in the new era.
Converging those values, the song "Dat oi no hoa" performed by Meritorious Artist Hoang Tung was put into performance by the Organizing Committee of the art political program "Khuc ca khai triem" of Voice of Vietnam Radio, on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
