Flowers and ornamental plants such as peach, kumquat, and grapefruit have begun to be transported by traders to Ha Tinh to be ready to serve people during the Lunar New Year 2024.
At this time, when there are less than 20 days left until the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin in 2024, traders have begun transporting flowers and ornamental plants to Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Street in the Northern Urban Area of Nguyen Du Ward - 1 of 8 locations in Ha Tinh City that are allowed to trade flowers and ornamental plants during Tet to serve the people. The Northern Urban Area of Nguyen Du Ward is considered the second largest flower and ornamental plant market in Ha Tinh every time Tet comes and spring comes.
It is noted that ornamental grapefruits are brought in for display earlier than other ornamental plants. According to traders, this type of ornamental plant is suitable for display in agencies, units or as gifts, and the transportation process is quite difficult, so it is "prioritized" to be brought in earlier.
Ornamental grapefruit originates from Van Giang district, Hung Yen province. In recent years, this ornamental tree has been quite popular with Ha Tinh people because of its large trunk, many yellow fruits, and mild fragrance, symbolizing wealth and luck.
“For the past 3 years, I have imported Van Giang ornamental grapefruit trees to sell every year. This year, I imported 50 ornamental grapefruit trees to serve people at all prices, of which, large trees with many fruits and beautiful shapes cost from 8 - 10 million VND, even 20 - 25 million VND. Although they have just arrived, there have been customers who have "opened the sale". Hopefully, this year's Tet will be a favorable time for business", said Mr. Le Van Hai (born in 1987, residing in Thach Quy ward, Ha Tinh city).
During the transportation process on the truck, the grapefruits are wrapped in plastic and tape to prevent them from falling and affecting the quality of the tree. After returning home, the trader removes the protective layer, watering the tree to keep it green and healthy.
Along with ornamental grapefruit, at this time, bonsai peach trees are also starting to be brought in by traders to serve people during the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin in 2024.
Peach trees of all sizes, shapes, and ages are blooming, ready to welcome people to "pick them up" and display them for Tet.
In the coming days, there will be more ornamental plants such as peach blossom, peach blossom, Nhat Tan peach, yellow apricot, kumquat, orange, and tangerine, brought by traders to the largest flower and ornamental plant market in Ha Tinh so that people can freely choose.
Although the market this year is not expected to be as "lively" as previous years due to the somewhat sluggish economy, it is noted that traders are still "generous" in importing all kinds of flowers and ornamental plants to be ready to serve Ha Tinh people during the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin.
When the flower and ornamental plant market is abundant, people can freely choose the type of plant that suits their family's "budget" to display during Tet.
