On December 10, the Department of Cinema presided over and coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Cao Bang province and related units to organize a Film Week to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army in Cao Bang.
Leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Cao Bang province presented flowers to artists and actors of the film crew.
The films selected for screening during the film week include: Blue Star in the Waves; Red Dawn; Spirit Image; Peach, Pho and Piano; Steel in the Deep Sea; Nguyen Thi Dinh – Portrait of a Female General; Green Land.
Speaking at the ceremony, Director of the Vietnam Cinema Department Dang Tran Cuong emphasized that Cao Bang is one of the places deeply associated with revolutionary history.
“Each film not only reflects the heroic fighting spirit and loyalty to the Fatherland, but also deeply depicts the life, emotions and very simple and familiar aspirations of soldiers. This is an opportunity for the public in general, and the people of Cao Bang in particular, to better understand the great sacrifices and contributions of the military force throughout the 80-year journey of building and defending the Fatherland,” Mr. Cuong affirmed.
Within the framework of the film week, the Department of Cinema also organized a delegation of officers and artists to exchange with officers and soldiers of the Cao Bang Provincial Border Guard Command and officers, teachers and students of the Cao Bang Provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities.
The film week celebrating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army takes place from December 9 to 13 in Cao Bang City (Cao Bang Province) and from December 19 to 25 nationwide.
