This is a favorable condition for the district to form tourist areas and spots... gradually awakening tourism potential, promoting local socio-economic development and the district has identified tourism development as one of the three key tasks of socio-economic development in the period of 2020-2025.
Ho Dynasty Citadel
In fact, since 2016, the Party Executive Committee of Vinh Loc district has issued a resolution on tourism development for the period 2016-2020, with a vision to 2030. The Resolution of the District Party Congress, term 2020-2025, continues to set the goal of developing tourism into a key economic sector. Accordingly, the Standing Committee of Vinh Loc District Party Committee has focused on leading and directing Party committees at all levels, authorities, the Fatherland Front, and organizations to develop action programs, projects, and plans to implement the resolution in line with the actual situation of the locality, agencies, units, and organizations. The People's Committee of Vinh Loc district has concretized the contents of the resolution through projects and plans on tourism development; at the same time, deploying guiding documents in the field of tourism to communes and towns; closely monitoring the planning work and State management work at historical sites and scenic spots in the district. Along with that, the district increases investment in infrastructure to serve tourism development; focuses on building unique tourism products suitable to local conditions.
Vinh Tien - is one of the communes located in the Ho Dynasty Citadel World Heritage Area. Implementing the resolution of the District Party Committee, the commune has deployed a project to develop community-based tourism for the period 2022-2025. In particular, focusing on improving the landscape environment, building a green, clean and beautiful new rural area, connecting relics and scenic spots in the area and promoting the role of the people in preserving and promoting heritage values.
Living in the heart of heritage for many generations, Mr. Pham Ngoc Tung's family (Tay Giai village, Vinh Tien commune) still preserves an ancient house that is over 200 years old. This is an ancient folk house that is highly appreciated by experts for its unique architecture. With support from the ancient folk house restoration project, his family is always conscious of preserving and promoting its value, serving tourism development. This is also one of the destinations for tourists when coming to Thanh Nha Ho.
Mr. Pham Ngoc Tung shared: "With the pride of being next to a world-recognized tourist area, we are very clear about preserving and maintaining our family's ancient house, because this is a destination in the journey of sightseeing and experience for visitors when coming to Ho Dynasty Citadel and the surrounding heritage space. Therefore, I often remind my children and grandchildren to preserve and conserve the heritage left by our grandparents.
Mr. Le Quang Lai, Vice Chairman of Vinh Tien Commune People's Committee, said: In recent years, closely following the Resolution of the Vinh Loc District Party Congress, the Commune Party Executive Committee identified tourism as one of the key industries to develop the economy for households in the commune.
According to statistics, in Vinh Loc district, there are over 250 inventoried relics, of which nearly 70 relics are ranked, including 1 world cultural heritage - Ho Dynasty Citadel, 14 national relics and over 50 provincial relics, widely distributed throughout the district. Along with that, traditional festivals associated with key relics such as Trinh Palace, Bao An Pagoda, Du Anh Pagoda, Tran Khat Chan Temple, Cam Hoang Communal House, etc. are preserved, organized annually, promoting effectiveness in the cultural and spiritual life of local people. The adjustment of the Master Plan for conservation and promotion of the value of Ho Dynasty Citadel and surrounding areas associated with tourism development that has been approved is very necessary to preserve and promote the outstanding global values of the Ho Dynasty Citadel World Cultural Heritage and protect the landscape and environment of the heritage site. Adjusting functional areas in the buffer zone to ensure sustainable socio-economic and tourism development based on the principle of heritage conservation. Along with that, Vinh Loc District People's Committee has coordinated with the Ho Dynasty Citadel Heritage Conservation Center and Thanh Hoa Province Tourism Association to connect tours in the district, bringing visitors new experiences.
Along with the extensive implementation of the policies and resolutions of the District Party Committee on tourism development to Party committees, authorities, businesses and people in the area, Vinh Loc district has also effectively implemented the policies on tourism development of the Central and the province. Notably, the program to support people in building OCOP products to develop craft villages and develop tourism is noteworthy. The district has arranged spaces to display and introduce OCOP products for tourists to visit, shop and develop traditional craft villages of the locality. Up to now, Vinh Loc has 15 products recognized as OCOP products. The type of agricultural and rural eco-tourism associated with the advanced new rural development program in communes and towns in the district has also been promoted. Many tourism activities to experience and explore nature at Kim Son scenic spot, Ho Cong cave, and Mang Mang lake have been effectively exploited.
In addition, the district also regularly maintains and brings traditional folk games, performances, and performing arts such as: Cheo Xuan Ang, Tuong Co, Ca Tru singing... into political and cultural events of the district and each locality. Traditional festivals such as: water procession festival, Du Anh pagoda festival, death anniversary of General Tran Khat Chan, death anniversary of Minh Khang Thai Vuong Trinh Kiem... have gradually improved their scale and quality, forming unique and characteristic cultural tourism products of the district. Recently, the district successfully organized the Announcement Ceremony of the Plan for conservation and promotion of the value of the national scenic spot of Kim Son mountain, Vinh Loc district associated with the development of tourism services, thereby creating conditions to invite and attract investment in tourism development in a large and synchronous manner.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tam, Vice Chairman of Vinh Loc District People's Committee, said: The key program on tourism development according to the Resolution of the Vinh Loc District Party Congress in the past time has achieved outstanding results, in which the awareness of the role of tourism in economic development among the people, party members, and authorities at all levels has been raised. Mechanisms, policies, and tourism development projects have been and are being effectively implemented, such as: investing in restoration, embellishment, and promotion of the value of relics; tourism infrastructure has been invested in spacious and synchronously, increasingly attracting tourists to Vinh Loc, the quality of some services has been increasingly improved, meeting the needs and tastes of tourists, and revenue from tourism has increased day by day. In 2023, Vinh Loc district welcomed more than 437,000 visitors, 2.29 times higher than the same period. The image of Vinh Loc land and people has been known to friends, investors, businesses, and tourists from near and far.
With the efforts, determination and right direction, and the consensus of the people, the Party Committee of Vinh Loc district has been mobilizing and effectively using resources to invest in sustainable tourism development. In the coming time, the Party Committee and the people of the whole district will continue to promote the potential and advantages of the locality, determined to make tourism a truly attractive destination for domestic and foreign tourists, striving to make tourism a spearhead economic sector by 2030, with diverse and high-quality tourism products, meeting the needs of tourists, and being among the districts with developed tourism in the province.
