Spending nearly 420 billion VND to give gifts to meritorious people on July 27

On June 18, authorized by the Prime Minister, the Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs signed a document to the President on giving gifts to people with revolutionary contributions, on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024).

Accordingly, on this year's anniversary, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs continues to propose two gift levels of 600,000 VND and 300,000 VND for people with meritorious services.

Specifically, the gift of 600,000 VND for people with revolutionary contributions includes: Vietnamese Heroic Mothers who are receiving monthly preferential allowances, and individuals who have been awarded the title of Vietnamese Heroic Mother before July 28, 2024, but have not completed the procedures to receive monthly preferential allowances.

This gift level is also given to war invalids, people who enjoy policies such as war invalids, type B war invalids, sick soldiers with a body injury rate of 81% or more who are receiving monthly preferential allowances; resistance fighters infected with toxic chemicals with a body injury rate of 81% or more who are receiving monthly preferential allowances.

In addition, relatives of martyrs who are receiving monthly allowances for care; relatives of two or more martyrs who are receiving monthly allowances are also eligible to receive this gift.

The gift of 300,000 VND will be given to war invalids, people who enjoy policies like war invalids, war invalids of type B, sick soldiers with a body injury rate of 80% or less who are receiving monthly preferential allowances; war invalids who are receiving a labor loss regime.

This gift is also given to resistance fighters infected with toxic chemicals, with a body injury rate of 80% or less, who are receiving monthly preferential allowances; representatives of martyrs' relatives; and martyr worshipers in cases where martyrs have no relatives.

The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs estimates the total cost of giving gifts to the meritorious people on this occasion is 419.6 billion VND.

This budget has been allocated in the 2024 State budget plan.

Every year, on the occasion of Lunar New Year and the anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27), the Prime Minister authorizes the Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to submit to the President a decision to give gifts to people with revolutionary contributions.

Previously, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs submitted to the Prime Minister permission to give gifts to people with revolutionary contributions. The recipients and gift levels remain the same as in 2023.
