Hanoi FC welcomed Nam Dinh Club at home in the absence of many key players. They did not even have the services of William and Marcao, Lucao could only sit on the bench.
However, Nam Dinh FC could not make any difference against Hanoi FC even though their opponents were facing many difficulties. The first notable opportunity belonged to Hanoi FC. After Tuan Hai's effort, the ball came to Van Tung's feet but the U22 Vietnam player's shot was weak and could not defeat Nguyen Manh.
Tuan Hai scored the only goal for Hanoi FC.
Bad luck continued to haunt the capital team when Hai Long was injured. With no other choice, coach Bandovic was forced to put striker Lucao on the field even though he was not in good physical condition. However, the Brazilian striker played with great effort and his efforts helped Hanoi FC's attack significantly improve its strength.
After many failed chances, the goal came to the capital team. In the 42nd minute, from a corner kick by Van Xuan, the ball hit Duy Manh's head before Tuan Hai rushed in to head the ball dangerously to open the score for Hanoi FC.
In the second half, the advantage in terms of score helped Hanoi FC play much easier. They did not need to put constant pressure but could wait for the opponent to attack. Meanwhile, coach Vu Hong Viet showed his determination to gain points when he brought striker Dominic Vinicius onto the field.
However, the performance of the foreign duo Vinicius – Nnamani was very disappointing. They were heavy, slow and rarely got past the defenders of Hanoi FC. Even Hendrio was “locked down” by Bui Hoang Viet Anh when he was pushed up to play as a central midfielder.
In the final minutes of the match, Nam Dinh FC's attacks still came to a dead end. Winning by a narrow margin against Nam Dinh FC, Hanoi FC ended their streak of no wins and continued to chase the top two teams, Hanoi Police FC and Thanh Hoa FC.
