On October 14, speaking with Thanh Nien reporter, Mr. Bui Van Manh, Director of Ninh Binh Department of Tourism, said that the unit had sent specialized staff to coordinate with businesses to specifically verify the incident of a British tourist insulting and cursing the parking attendant at Thung Nham Tourist Area (Ninh Hai Commune, Hoa Lu District, Ninh Binh).
According to Mr. Manh, if the verification process determines that the tourist has made inappropriate statements that affect the reputation and honor of others, this unit will request the competent authority to handle the matter according to regulations.
Mr. Pham Cong Chat, Director of Doanh Sinh Trade and Tourism Services Joint Stock Company (owner of Thung Nham Tourist Area), said that the company's staff is reviewing the security camera system to determine the specific date and time of the incident in which the British tourist insulted the parking attendant.

According to Mr. Chat, the incident happened between a British tourist and a parking attendant. The two sides did not speak the same language and did not understand what was being said, so it was not resolved immediately.
"In case tourists use offensive words that affect Vietnamese culture and people, if the ticket counter staff understand English, they will be immediately dealt with according to regulations. But with parking attendants, they do not understand English," said Mr. Chat.
Previously, as Thanh Nien reported, in a self-recorded video, a British tourist named Sean came to Thung Nham tourist area for sightseeing. The parking attendant instructed Sean to park his motorbike in the right place because he wanted to park in the car area. However, after parking, he began to curse and insult the parking attendant.
"You got nothing better to do. I hope your family got shot in the Vietnam war. I hope napalm stuck to your children…".
The male parking attendant did not understand the insulting language and could only reply "no". The foreign man then asked him how many children he had and without stopping, he added: "Check your children to see if they have been exposed to napalm".
The next scene shows the parking attendant collecting 10,000 VND from the customer and discussing the change. The video was posted on Sean’s personal YouTube page but has now been hidden after receiving strong reactions from many people in the comments.
The clip of Sean "poisonously" cursing the parking attendant is still spreading on social networks, causing public outrage.
