The Ministry of Education and Training stipulates that candidates have 8 days to register for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam. Registration time is from April 21 to 5:00 p.m. on April 28.
Candidates who are grade 12 students fill out the online registration information according to the account provided on the exam management software system. After completing the review and confirmation within the deadline, the high school where the candidate is studying will print the exam form and stamp the photo of the exam form to confirm the candidate's identity.
Candidates freely fill in the necessary information on the registration form envelope and submit it to the receiving unit according to the instructions.
Regarding exam registration, this year's exam regulations stipulate that to be considered for high school graduation recognition, candidates must register for the Literature exam, Math exam and 1 optional exam including 2 subjects from the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Industrial Technology, Agricultural Technology, Foreign Language.

Candidates choose 2 subjects of the optional exam from the subjects they have studied in grade 12. Candidates can register to take a foreign language exam other than the foreign language they are studying in high school.
Candidates who have a high school diploma or intermediate diploma will take the exam to use the results as a basis for admission registration. They can only register for the exam subjects according to their wishes. For the optional exam, candidates can only choose a maximum of 2 subjects.
The principal of the high school or the head of the unit where the exam is registered is responsible for providing the account and password to the candidate and guiding the candidate to prepare the documents to register for the exam online; and collecting the exam registration form.
The school reviews and updates information on candidates' academic performance in high school; looks up information from the national population database to confirm priority status based on permanent residence and ethnic minority groups for candidates.
No change of selected exam subjects allowed
Candidates' examination rooms are arranged according to their chosen exam, each examination room has a maximum of 24 candidates and must ensure a minimum distance of 1.2 meters between two candidates sitting next to each other horizontally.
Mr. Huynh Van Chuong, Director of the Department of Quality Management (Ministry of Education and Training), said that through the trial registration period and the first official registration day, the system operated smoothly and conveniently. Students were carefully guided by schools, so the registration process had no errors.
However, according to Mr. Chuong, candidates who are grade 12 students studying the 2018 General Education Program this year need to pay special attention when registering for elective exams.
In addition to the two compulsory subjects of Math and Literature, students must choose a maximum of 2 subjects from the subjects they have chosen and have the results of their studies in grade 12 and choose the correct subject according to their wishes for the high school graduation exam and university and college admission.
Candidates should note that they are not allowed to choose subjects that they did not study in grade 12. And once they have chosen and officially registered, they will not be allowed to change their subjects. Therefore, the Director of the Department of Quality Management reminds candidates to consider very carefully during the registration process to avoid making mistakes.
In addition, in the foreign language certificate section for graduation exam exemption, candidates should also note that the certificate is valid until June 25.
According to Mr. Chuong, for candidates taking the 2018 General Education Program this year, there will be 3 exam sessions with 4 subjects.
The organization of the 2 elective exams this year will have many more complicated changes than before, however, the difficulties and hardships will be concentrated on the organization and create the most favorable conditions for candidates. Therefore, candidates will not only take fewer exams but also do not have to move or change exam rooms according to the elective exam.
The 2025 High School Graduation Exam will be held in all provinces and cities nationwide from June 26-27. The Ministry of Education and Training expects more than 1.1 million candidates to register for the exam.
This is also a special exam when it is organized with 2 exam questions for 2 groups of candidates: Candidates studying the 2018 General Education Program and candidates studying the 2006 General Education Program.
