National hero, Emperor Le Dai Hanh was a king who represented talent and virtue, and had great contributions in the cause of fighting invaders and unifying the country. He successfully completed his mission in the pivotal historical period of the 10th century, leading our nation to a new, more glorious and brilliant path.

After Emperor Le Dai Hanh passed away, to commemorate the great merit of this outstanding hero, the people built a temple to worship him in his hometown - Trung Lap village (Xuan Lap commune). In the 17th century, the temple was renovated to the scale it has today.

The temple has a traditional architectural style and unique decorative art, and is considered by many researchers to be one of the historical - cultural relics, beautiful and unique ancient architectural art. In 2018, the architectural art relic of Le Hoan Temple was recognized as a special national relic.

Every year, the Le Hoan Temple Festival is held by the people on the 8th day of the 3rd lunar month, to commemorate and show gratitude to the merits of Emperor Le Dai Hanh and his ancestors. In 2023, the Le Hoan Temple Festival was recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
