Completing the final stage of the 12,500 billion VND highway through Ha Tinh

Deo But Tunnel is nearly 1 km long, with an investment capital of more than 1,000 billion VND, and is an important item in the Vung Ang - Bung expressway section.

The tunnel is designed with 2 tunnels with the left tunnel 716 m long, the right tunnel 840 m long, each tunnel is 15 m wide, 8 m high. Construction started in July 2023, after nearly 2 years of construction, up to now, Deo But tunnel only has a few small items left before completion and handover.

According to the plan, the right tunnel is 840 m long to serve phase 1 of the project, while the left tunnel after being opened will not be exploited but will be used for rescue and relief purposes. Currently, the contractor implementing the Deo But tunnel project is installing the electrical system, pouring concrete for emergency stops and completing auxiliary items.

A representative of the project implementation unit said: “The right tunnel is more than 90% complete and will be handed over and ready for traffic this coming June. The left tunnel is 11 meters long and is being reinforced to drill through the tunnel and carry out the remaining technical steps.

Fire fighting, rescue and lighting systems inside the tunnel are fully equipped. According to Project Management Board 6 (project investor), the Vung Ang - Bung expressway section with a total length of 55.34 km; of which 12.9 km passes through Ha Tinh province and 42.44 km passes through Quang Binh province is gradually approaching the finish line. The project implementing units are completing the remaining items, ensuring on-schedule handover.

The road connecting to Deo But tunnel is being paved with C16 asphalt concrete layers and a railing and sign system is being installed by the contractor.

The Vung Ang - Bung Expressway has a total investment of more than 12,500 billion VND. After more than 2 years of implementation, the project is nearing completion and will be put into use in June. The North-South Eastern Expressway Project in the 2021-2025 period is being implemented in Ha Tinh with a total length of more than 102 km with 3 component projects: Bai Vot - Ham Nghi; Ham Nghi - Vung Ang put into use in April and Vung Ang - Bung project put into use in June.
