The political report and speeches at the congress assessed: In the 2020-2025 term, the Party Committee of Brigade 172 always thoroughly grasped the situation and tasks, was active, proactive, united, overcame difficulties, led and directed the unit to complete all tasks well, and some tasks were completed excellently. The comprehensive leadership capacity and fighting strength of party organizations were constantly improved. The Brigade was always strong in politics, ideology, organization, ethics and cadres; successfully completed the tasks of combat readiness (SSCD), training, exercises, and defense diplomacy. Logistics, technical work and other aspects of work all changed positively and steadily.

With the achieved results, from 2020 to present, the Party Committee of Brigade 172 has excellently completed its tasks (in 2021, 2024); well completed its tasks (in 2020, 2022, 2023); the Brigade was awarded the Emulation Flag by the Ministry of National Defense (in 2021) and the "Excellent Training Unit" Flag (in 2021, 2024); the Navy Command awarded the Emulation Flag (in 2024) and many other noble awards.

With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Development", the Congress focused on discussing and contributing opinions to the draft documents of the Central Committee to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress, contributing to the draft Political Report of the Party Executive Committee of Naval Region 3 to be submitted to the 12th Congress of Delegates of the Party Committee of Naval Region 3; Political Report, review report, evaluation of leadership results for the 2020-2025 term of the Brigade Party Committee; at the same time, setting out directions, goals, tasks, and leadership solutions to implement tasks for the 2025-2030 term.

Speaking at the congress, Rear Admiral Nguyen Thien Quan praised the outstanding achievements of Brigade 172 during the past term; at the same time, he requested that in the 2025-2030 term, the Party Committee of Brigade 172 needs to focus on leadership to improve the level and combat readiness capacity to meet mission requirements, especially breakthroughs in improving training quality, taking cadre training as the key; actively innovate, apply science, technology, initiatives, and technical improvements to improve training quality.
