On the opening day, 10,000 athletes registered to participate in the Viettel Marathon, creating a vibrant atmosphere at the Expo area. Athletes came in groups or families and after completing the procedures, all were excited to experience the products and games at the exhibition booths. Notably, the Expo day also had the participation of stars currently playing for Viettel The Cong Club such as Nham Manh Dung, Dang Tuan Phong, Cong Phuong and Duc Chien.
In addition to the special appearance of the Viettel The Cong Club players, expert Karl Gunter Lange of the Vietnam athletics team was also present. He had a useful sharing session on modern endurance training methods, developing a physical foundation, helping to improve efficiency when running outdoor events such as 10km, half marathon and full marathon.

Viettel Marathon Hanoi - Vietnam 2024 promises to be hot on the advanced track with the participation of athletes from the national athletics teams of Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Malaysia. The 42 km distance - advanced men's category will be an exciting race between Hoang Nguyen Thanh, Nguyen Van Lai, Trinh Quoc Luat, marathon record holder from Malaysia Muhaizar Mohamad. Meanwhile, the "golden girl" Nguyen Thi Oanh will seek a record in the 21 km distance.
Viettel Marathon 2024 attracts a large number of runners from the country and 23 countries and territories thanks to its attractive prize structure, new running route instead of in the center of Hanoi, easy to remember and less steep. On December 1, the Viettel Marathon Vietnam stage took place with distances of 41 km, 21 km, 10 km and 5 km with the starting and finishing route at the mecca of Vietnamese athletics, My Dinh Stadium, through 6 districts of Hanoi.

The Viettel Marathon 2024 is a prestigious sporting event organized by the Asian Athletics Federation, the Vietnam Athletics Federation, and the Military Industry-Telecoms Group in collaboration with the Cambodian Athletics Federation and the Lao Athletics Federation in 3 countries: Laos (November 3, 2024), Vietnam (December 1, 2024) and Cambodia (December 22, 2024). The tournament is licensed, consulted, professionally supervised by the Asian Athletics Association, and the running track is certified by AAA standards.
Previously, in the Luang Prabang (Laos) stage, there were about 5,000 athletes participating. The final stage of Viettel Marathon 2024 in Siem Reap (December 22, Cambodia) will take place at the famous Angkor Wat relic complex.
