The family of Mr. Alang Tra, Apat village, A Vuong commune, Tay Giang district, has been living in a dilapidated wooden house with a leaky roof for a long time. With the support of 60 million VND from the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, together with the joint efforts of the community, especially the help of the militia and self-defense forces in digging the foundation and leveling the ground, Mr. Tra's family has a safe place to live and settle down.

Mr. Alang Tra shared that after many years of living in a seriously degraded house, with the attention and support of the government, units and organizations, along with the family's savings; the cooperation and support of the villagers and the militia, his family was able to build a sturdy house that is no longer afraid of storms.
After completing Mr. Alang Tra's house, the militia continued to support the construction of a house for Mr. Ating Ding's family in Arec village, a poor household in the commune. In 2025, receiving 60 million VND in state support from the temporary housing elimination program, his family was determined to build a new house. Because the house was far from the commune center and transportation was difficult, the Military Command of A Vuong commune mobilized the militia to help Mr. Ding's family transport materials to speed up the completion of the house.

Commander of the Military Command of A Commune, Vuong Arat Dhoor, said that during the training period combined with mass mobilization work, the Military Command of the Commune mobilized and established a militia force to help people in villages in the commune move belongings, dismantle temporary houses, transport materials, dig foundations, level the ground, clean up the environment, build new houses, and repair houses.
"This is a practical activity to respond to the local program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses; at the same time, it demonstrates the role and responsibility of the militia and self-defense force, contributing to strengthening people's trust in the militia and self-defense force in particular and local Party committees and authorities in general," said Mr. Arat Dhoor.

Mr. Colau Hoai - Secretary of the Party Committee of A Vuong commune said that in 2025, the number of temporary houses that need to be eliminated in the area is 43 (41 new houses will be built and 2 houses will be repaired). With a large number of temporary houses, the main beneficiaries are poor households and policy households, so most of the households have registered but do not have the ability to build houses, and the other part is too difficult to be able to match the funding when supported to build houses.
"To overcome the above difficulties, the Party Committee has directed the Commune People's Committee to start reviewing policy beneficiaries; develop plans and roadmaps. Fortunately, there is currently a militia and self-defense force team helping with working days to speed up the progress of removing temporary houses for households in need. Thanks to that, up to now, 9 houses have been completed, many are in the finishing stage. I am confident that by the end of June, A Vuong Commune will complete the removal of 43 houses according to the district's target" - Mr. Hoai said.
