Passionate about business, female student admitted to 4 top universities in Australia

Among the top four prestigious universities in Australia, Tran Ngo Thao Nhi plans to study Commerce at the University of Sydney.

The University of Sydney, the University of Technology Sydney, the Queensland University of Technology and Macquarie University are four schools in the top 10 list in Australia that sent acceptance notices to Tran Ngoc Thao Nhi, a grade 12 student at Olympia High School. Here, the female student received scholarships worth 150-200 million VND/school year.

It is known that in the recent university entrance exam, Thao Nhi applied to 6 schools in Australia. "I am happy to be accepted into my dream schools. I plan to study at the University of Sydney," Thao Nhi said.

The intention of studying abroad in Australia of the 10X from Hanoi started in 7th grade after a 2-week summer camp trip in the land of kangaroos. The environment and lifestyle of the indigenous people here strongly attracted her. Returning to Vietnam, Thao Nhi did not hesitate to express her desire to study in this country to her family.

In high school, 10X became more serious about her intention. Thinking that studying abroad is an opportunity to explore a new life, a new learning environment and will be an interesting journey of experience in life, Thao Nhi is determined to achieve her goal, preparing herself with an ideal academic profile.

According to Thao Nhi, unlike the US, universities in Australia do not focus on extracurricular activities but rather on academic results. Therefore, she only does a few small projects related to her major. The rest of the time, the 10X girl puts all her effort into studying and trying to achieve the best grades.

The Hanoi female student always sets principles for herself. If her study results are not as expected, instead of giving up, she will continue to make efforts at all costs. Thanks to that, Thao Nhi's GPA is above 9.0, IELTS 8.0 and SAT 1460 points.

The reason Thao Nhi applied for the Commerce major was because her parents passed on her entrepreneurial spirit. Since 8th grade, the female student and her friends have been running an online snack business.

"Without much business experience, I proactively learned from my parents how to control cash flow and how to bring my brand to more customers," the female student recalled. Initially, Thao Nhi and her friends only sold snacks. With the support of many people, they added accessories such as hair ties and bows. As a result, the online business brought in significant profits.

"The experience of selling online gives me the excitement and desire to become an operator and manager of my own business," Thao Nhi confided.

10X also believes that choosing and getting into which school is not as important as how hard you try. Determining what you like and find suitable, then making efforts to achieve your goals is the most meaningful thing.

Studying the Vietnam - US integration program at Olympia School, Thao Nhi has many opportunities to prepare the foundation to realize her dream. Every month, the female student and her friends get to study and experience at many businesses. It is these trips that help her visualize business activities more clearly and gain more practical knowledge about the market.

“Olympia has given me many things, among which the most valuable thing for me is leadership. Those opportunities to be a leader have given me useful lessons on how to manage a team, how to communicate and resolve disagreements,” Thao Nhi expressed.

From the preparation process for studying abroad, the female student from Hanoi gave advice to those who are planning to study abroad in Australia - try to maintain a high GPA, above 9.0 is the ideal score. For IELTS, the minimum is 6.5 and SAT 1200 points. However, if you want to enter a top university, the SAT score should be higher than 1400.

Although some Australian universities do not require extracurricular activities, it is still a good idea to include them in your application. Your extracurricular project should be directly related to your field of study, as this will help you gain valuable experience. Most importantly, universities want to see in you a dedication and a concern for the community.

Besides her own tireless efforts, Thao Nhi confided that she always received support and encouragement from her parents and teachers. Without her family and school, the journey to a series of prestigious schools in Australia would have been much more difficult for the female student.

Sharing about her future plans, the 10X from Hanoi plans to stay in Australia for about 3 years after completing her university studies to experience the competitive environment of a country with a developed economy . After that, Thao Nhi will return to Vietnam and work at large corporations to gain more experience before developing independently.
