In another development, CCTV reported on November 16 that Chinese police have officially detained a 62-year-old man surnamed Fan, accused of driving into a crowd, killing 35 people and injuring 43.
The incident happened on the evening of November 11 when a driver drove his car into a crowd exercising outside a sports center in Zhuhai, a city in southern China.
Police said Mr. Pham was arrested at the scene, but was in a coma from the self-inflicted stab wound, making it impossible for investigators to question him.

Police previously said a preliminary investigation showed that Mr. Pham's attack stemmed from his "dissatisfaction with the division of assets after the divorce."
