The photo collection is the traditional wedding of the bride Duong Thi Linh, and the groom Trieu Van Son. Both the bride and groom are from Cong Son commune, Mau Son. Lang Son province. Mau Son has nearly 80 large and small mountain peaks and hills, stretching from Mau Son commune, Loc Binh district to Cong Son commune, Cao Loc district, Lang Son province. The Dao Lu Gang ethnic group in Mau Son preserves the pure Dao culture, from the way of eating, living, clothing to worshiping customs and festivals, including traditional wedding ceremonies. The photo collection was submitted by the author to the Photo and Video Contest "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam", organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications. According to traditional customs, the Dao Lu Gang people in Mau Son mountain area often hold weddings   at night. The people believe that all the best things begin when the sun has not yet risen. In many cases, the bride has to leave her house between 1 and 2 a.m. and enter the groom's house when it is still foggy.

In addition to the dowry, the bride prepares two sets of clothes: one set when leaving her parents' house and one set to change into before entering the groom's house. The bride's outfit includes a veil, a multi-layered ao dai, and four belts. All are embroidered with colorful, elaborate threads... Each outfit of a Dao Lu Gang bride has on average from 3 to 10 layers. For families with better conditions, the bride's outfit is sewn with more layers...

Before going to the groom's house, the bride's family will hold a ceremony to inform her grandparents and ancestors. After the ceremony, the bride sits down to eat with her two bridesmaids at her house. At the auspicious time, the bridal procession arrives at the groom's house gate. All of the bride's activities at this time depend on the bridesmaids beside her, the bridesmaids in front and behind will hold umbrellas while the bride covers herself with a veil and walks in the middle. In front of the groom's house, there is a bowl of water and a knife, the shaman will read a prayer to dispel the evil spirits that have followed the bride on the way and ask the ancestors to let her officially become a daughter-in-law in the family. After the shaman's prayer, the bride must step over the bowl of water.

The wedding ceremony was the most solemn, with a drum and trumpet team and many relatives from both sides as witnesses. The groom's relatives stood on both sides, welcoming the bride's party with two people playing the pi le trumpets until everyone entered the house.

Then comes the red thread ceremony – the most important ritual of the wedding. The groom walks out and goes to the ancestral altar, on which are arranged 12 pairs of chopsticks, 12 bowls and 12 cups of wine.

After the ceremony, the groom’s family brought wine from the altar table to invite the prestigious elders to “enjoy the blessing”. Each person was invited to a cup of wine with a piece of boiled pig liver. Everyone had to drink it all to celebrate the happiness of the groom, the bride and their family.

After the wedding ceremony, the groom's family prepared a lavish wedding feast for the guests. Then, the trumpet player played a song to celebrate the bride until the end of the wedding.
