Emergency services available both outside and inside the hospital.

Dr. Mai Duc Huy, Deputy Director of Saigon General Hospital, said that the hospital has developed a detailed plan for each department to ensure emergency and inpatient treatment during the Tet holiday. The supply departments have prepared sufficient medications and medical supplies, and have deployed additional personnel. The hospital maintains two on-call emergency teams to ensure emergency care at the scene and to meet the demands of the festival as directed by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health . "To facilitate emergency services in narrow alleys, the hospital proactively coordinates emergency services using motorcycles," Dr. Mai Duc Huy informed.

According to Dr. Diep Bao Tuan, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital, during the Tet holiday, in addition to ensuring professional work as usual, the hospital has assigned members of the board of directors and heads of departments and wards to be on duty 24/7 to be ready to handle all tasks.

Cho Ray Hospital has a very large number of patients requiring inpatient treatment. In addition to ensuring on-call duty, emergency services, and medical examinations and treatment during the Tet holiday, this year the hospital will continue to organize a flower street within the hospital grounds, scheduled to open on February 5th. Dr. Nguyen Tri Thuc, Director of Cho Ray Hospital, said that the hospital is implementing the Cho Ray flower street project with the hope that patients and their families will have a space to visit, relax, and alleviate some of the sadness of being far from home during Tet.

At the National Children's Hospital, Director Tran Minh Dien informed that, despite the Lunar New Year holiday, the hospital will still ensure examination and treatment for pediatric patients, and will organize 24/7 emergency services. In addition, families with young children who have to stay at the hospital during the New Year will receive support from the hospital in the form of meals, lucky money, and gifts for the new year.

At Viet Duc Hospital, due to the high number of patients requiring emergency care and surgery after traffic accidents and domestic accidents during the Tet holiday, this is a very stressful and busy time for doctors and nurses. To ensure examination, emergency care, and treatment, the hospital has assigned specific duty schedules to each department and ward. At the same time, the hospital maintains the operation of its outpatient emergency team, emphasizing responsibility and readiness to provide support to lower-level facilities when needed.

Prepared to respond to the epidemic.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Tang Chi Thuong, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, the department has requested public and private hospitals to organize emergency care and medical examinations and treatment effectively, such as: maintaining sufficient reserves of medicines, blood and blood products, intravenous fluids, supplies, chemicals, and allocating a sufficient number of hospital beds and necessary equipment and facilities for emergency care and medical examinations. It is essential to ensure that all emergency patients receive timely examination and treatment, without refusal or delay for any reason; in cases where the patient's condition exceeds the hospital's professional capacity, the hospital must still provide initial emergency care to stabilize the patient, and fully explain the situation to the patient and their family before transferring them to another facility to ensure patient safety. "Hospitals must develop detailed plans and strategies, and organize their implementation, ensuring emergency response in the event of disasters, fires, accidents, mass food poisoning, and develop plans for personnel deployment when called upon by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health," Associate Professor Dr. Tang Chi Thuong affirmed.

To ensure healthcare services during the Lunar New Year holiday, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan issued a directive requiring all units in the sector to strengthen healthcare work, assigning leaders and staff to be on duty 24/7 as per regulations, and absolutely avoiding complacency, negligence, or a lack of vigilance against the epidemic. They must organize forces and resources for emergency response, monitoring and supervising the development of the epidemic, and promptly handling any arising situations. Hospitals must ensure sufficient supplies of medicines, blood, intravenous fluids, medical supplies, chemicals, equipment, and medical oxygen; and prepare emergency plans for events with large gatherings. They must allocate sufficient hospital beds and resources to be ready to respond to and serve treatment and emergency care, especially for traffic accidents, fires, injuries, food poisoning, and the treatment of patients with infectious diseases during the holiday.

K Hospital, in collaboration with the Tomorrow's Bright Future Cancer Patient Support Fund and other relevant units, recently organized a year-end meal program – a joyful Tet reunion – providing over 200 year-end meals at the hospital's cafeteria for patients, with the aim of alleviating their suffering and bringing them a happy new year. For patients who were unable to attend the program, the hospital's leadership visited each patient's bedside to offer encouragement, give Tet gifts, and provide 600 meals.

Immediately after the New Year's Eve dinner, K Hospital organized 13 free "love buses" to transport more than 360 patients and their family members back to their hometowns for Tet (Lunar New Year). According to the plan, on the morning of February 7th, K Hospital will continue to organize the second phase of these "love buses" to take patients and their families back home for Tet.
