Currently, the entire system of Quang Ninh Clean Water Joint Stock Company is operating at a total capacity of approximately 200,000 m³/day, serving 286,000 customer households, equivalent to over 1 million people. It is predicted that during the Lunar New Year holiday of the Year of the Horse 2026, the demand for clean water will increase by 25-30%.
Starting from the fourth quarter of 2025, Quang Ninh Clean Water Joint Stock Company directed its departments and affiliated enterprises to review the entire system of machinery, treatment areas, water supply networks, and technological lines, accelerating renovation, maintenance, and repair work to ensure continuous operation and prevent interruptions in water supply to people during the Tet holiday. At the same time, they accelerated the completion of pipeline and pumping station renovation projects to improve water supply capacity and system safety.
The Dong Ho water plant, managed by the Bai Chay Waterworks Enterprise, has a designed capacity of 20,000 m³/day and night, currently serving approximately 38,000 households in Hoanh Bo, Viet Hung wards and part of Bai Chay ward. The plant has intensified maintenance and repair work on equipment and machinery according to schedule, ensuring an increase in operating capacity to approximately 24,000 m³/day and night.

Mr. Tran Manh, Deputy General Director of Quang Ninh Clean Water Joint Stock Company, said: Along with increasing capacity and maintaining equipment, from December 2025 to the present, the company has closely coordinated with localities to closely monitor the implementation of urban renovation and upgrading. The unit is dedicating all its human resources to renovating and relocating approximately 400 water supply pipelines with a budget of nearly 100 billion VND.
It is expected that the projects will be completed and put into operation before the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, helping to enhance water supply capacity, expand the water supply network to urban areas and residential areas, and ensure long-term water supply security in accordance with the province's urban development plan.

Along with the water sector, starting from the last months of 2025, Quang Ninh Power Company also intensified the comprehensive review and inspection of the entire power grid system in the province, promptly addressing existing problems and defects, reinforcing weak points, and preparing safe operation plans in all situations, especially when the weather is unpredictable during Tet (Lunar New Year). Specifically, the company upgraded the capacity of 125 transformers; performed nearly 5,000 phase balancing, phase shifting, and load redistribution operations; and increased live-line electrical repairs with over 1,600 sessions of insulation cleaning and connection and repair, contributing to minimizing incidents and improving the reliability of electricity supply. Detailed and flexible power supply plans were developed for each area and time period, ensuring the ability to quickly manage and handle incidents, preventing interruptions in electricity supply even during peak days.
Notably, in December 2025, the company successfully energized two important projects: the Hung Thang 110kV substation and the Hoanh Bo 110kV substation. This not only enhances transmission capacity but also creates the best conditions to ensure a stable power supply, effectively serving major events and the daily needs of the people, especially in the context of 2026, a year marked by many significant political events for the country and the province.

Mr. Le Ba Quyen, Deputy Director of Quang Ninh Power Company, said: "By early January, most of the defects on the power grid had been inspected and rectified. The company has completed the power supply plan for all 54 communes, wards, and special zones in the province. Flexible operating scenarios have been calculated in detail, including plans for power supply support from Hai Phong Power Company and Lang Son Power Company in emergency situations, in order to maintain the continuity of the system. Preparations to ensure stable power supply for activities, especially during Tet, are being implemented according to plan. Particularly in central areas such as Ha Long ward, where large-scale political, cultural, and artistic activities celebrating the Party and the New Year take place, the company has developed a specific coordination plan with the local government and event organizers, deploying technical personnel on-site to handle any incidents immediately."
Along with increasing capacity and improving infrastructure, both the electricity and water sectors are focusing on organizing human resources, ensuring 24/7 operation and maintenance throughout the period before, during, and after Tet; preparing spare parts and equipment to promptly handle any unforeseen situations and prevent interruptions in electricity and water supply to the people.
