Ensuring food safety, enhancing the competitiveness of Quang Tri agriculture, forestry and fishery products

In order to ensure food security and safety and enhance the competitiveness of Quang Tri's agricultural, forestry and fishery products in the domestic market and towards export, the Provincial People's Committee has just approved the Action Plan to ensure food safety and quality, increase processing and develop the agricultural, forestry and fishery product market in the province by 2024.

Accordingly, the key task is to urgently review legal policies, standards, and technical regulations to propose amendments or promulgate new ones to effectively implement the work of ensuring food quality and safety and promoting processing and market development.

Ensuring food safety, enhancing the competitiveness of Quang Tri agriculture, forestry and fishery products

Improve the quality of human resources, at the same time promote the application of information technology and digital transformation in ensuring food quality and safety. Proactively inspect, monitor, promptly detect and strictly handle establishments and products that violate regulations on food quality and safety.

Strive for 100% of legal documents, documents of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and specialized departments on food safety to be disseminated and updated in accordance with regulations.

The rate of agricultural, forestry and fishery production and business establishments certified to meet food safety conditions reaches 98%; the rate of small-scale agricultural, forestry and fishery production establishments signing commitments to comply with food safety regulations reaches 94% or more; the rate of agricultural, forestry and fishery food samples monitored for violations of food safety regulations is less than 1.5%; the area of ​​cultivation certified for good agricultural practices such as VietGAP and equivalent increases by 10% compared to 2023...

At the same time, strive to achieve 165 cumulative OCOP products recognized as 3 stars or higher in 2024; the number of agricultural, forestry and fishery products protected under geographical indications increases by 10% compared to 2023; the growth rate of added value in the agricultural processing industry reaches 7% and the growth rate of added value of processed livestock products reaches 1%...
