Dak Ha (Kon Tum): Striving to have no more communes in region III by 2025

Dak Ha district has 10 communes and 1 town, with 84 villages and residential groups; of which, there are 51 ethnic minority villages. Ethnic minorities account for 51.43% of the district's population, with 28 ethnic groups living there.

Implementing the Resolution of the 3rd District Ethnic Minority Congress, in the period of 2019 - 2024, the district has focused on supporting resources from the Central and the province from 11 projects and policies issued by the Central to invest and effectively implement ethnic work and ethnic policies in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

Up to now, the district's socio-economy has developed and is relatively stable, the rural appearance has improved a lot, the lives of ethnic minority people have been improved and raised; cultural identity and folk festivals have been maintained and preserved, traditional occupations have been preserved and promoted; the poverty rate has decreased to 4.28%, the near-poor rate has decreased to 3.18%; 9/10 communes have met the new rural commune standards, 2 communes have met the advanced new rural standards; 10/10 communes have met the national criteria on health...

In particular, ethnic minorities have gradually changed their thinking and working methods, knowing how to apply scientific advances to production, effectively implementing industrial crop planting models, renovating and intercropping fruit trees in mixed gardens and coffee gardens to increase income and become rich.

With the spirit of "People of all ethnic groups in Dak Ha district unite, are equal, innovate, promote internal strength, be dynamic and develop sustainably", the Congress elected 26 outstanding delegates to attend the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities of Kon Tum province in 2024.

At the same time, through the Resolution of the 4th District Ethnic Minority Congress, many goals for the period 2024 - 2029 were set. Specifically, by the end of 2024, 10 communes will meet the new rural standards, accounting for 100%; Dak Ha town will achieve Civilized Urban; communes with ethnic minority villages will have at least 1 village each year meeting the new rural standards. By 2025, there will be no more communes in region III and districts meeting the new rural district standards. In 2029, the whole district will have over 60% of communes meeting the advanced new rural standards and over 40% of communes meeting the model new rural standards. Focus on implementing solutions, striving to have 100% of ethnic minority households have residential land and production land by the end of 2029. Strive to reduce the poverty rate by 3% on average each year.

On this occasion, the Kon Tum Provincial Ethnic Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 2 groups and 4 individuals; Dak Ha District People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 7 groups and 18 individuals for their outstanding achievements in implementing the Action Program and Resolution Letter at the 3rd Provincial and District Ethnic Minority Congress (2019 - 2024).
