Vietnam Television and China Central Radio and Television strengthen media cooperation

NDO - On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations (1950-2025) and in response to the Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year, on April 14, in Hanoi, Vietnam Television (VTV) and China Central Radio and Television (CMG) jointly held the VTV-CMG media cooperation announcement ceremony and introduced key media projects for the 2025-2026 period.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent a congratulatory letter to leaders, officials, reporters, editors and staff of VTV and CMG.

In the letter, the Prime Minister highly appreciated VTV and CMG, the two key media agencies of the two Parties and two States, for performing very well their particularly important role in information and propaganda work, promoting the connection between the people of the two countries, while introducing unique cultural values, awakening potential, and promoting the advantages of each nation in the spirit of respect and mutual development.

The close cooperation between the two stations in recent times, through joint projects in producing television content, documentaries and cultural and artistic exchange programs between the two countries, has not only brought value in terms of communication, but also contributed to strengthening the foundation of friendly relations between all levels, sectors, localities and people of the two countries in the spirit of "good neighbors, good friends, good comrades, good partners".

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the cultural similarities between the Vietnamese and Chinese peoples are one of the particularly important factors to promote cooperation, solidarity and deepen the multifaceted cooperative relationship between the two countries.

The Prime Minister expressed his hope and belief that VTV and CMG will proactively cooperate closely, comprehensively and effectively in all fields, maintaining their position as the country's official information channel, contributing to strongly promoting the friendly neighborly relationship, the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, and building a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future with strategic significance, in line with the aspirations and interests of the people of the two countries, for peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world .

For many years, media cooperation between VTV and CMG has always been identified as an effective communication channel, contributing to consolidating and deepening the traditional friendship between the two countries.

The specific cooperation projects between VTV and CMG on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations and the Vietnam-China Cultural Exchange Year are among the activities of great significance, contributing to concretizing the common perception between the senior leaders of the two Parties and two countries, while promoting exchanges, cooperation and mutual understanding between the people of the two countries through television products and diverse and modern cultural and artistic content.

In the spirit of long-term and effective cooperation, VTV and CMG agreed to implement a series of outstanding communication activities in 2025 and 2026, notably the joint production of a series of programs on technology development, artificial intelligence, urban infrastructure and programs that comprehensively reflect the typical political, cultural and social milestones of the two countries.

Important events such as visits by high-ranking leaders of the two Parties and countries, important conferences, strategic cooperation and people-to-people exchanges will be given priority to be reflected in a timely and in-depth manner. Through this, audiences of both countries will have a realistic and vivid perspective on the process of friendly cooperation and sustainable development between Vietnam and China.

The programs are broadcast on national television channels and digital platforms, ensuring wide transmission to the masses of the two countries.

VTV and CMG agreed to strongly promote the exchange of television content, aiming to introduce works that reflect the cultural depth, national identity and outstanding development achievements of each country. Documentaries, TV series, and special reports on history, places, people and innovation will be prioritized in the exchange plan.

These activities help people of the two countries understand each other better, thereby arousing empathy, respect and strengthening solidarity between two long-standing cultures in the Asian region.

A highlight of the series of cooperation activities is the art exchange program between Vietnamese and Chinese artists. The event will bring together many prestigious names, representing the traditional and contemporary art fields of each country.

In the context of television strongly shifting to the digital environment, VTV and CMG will seek cooperation opportunities in the field of new media, including content production and distribution on digital platforms.

In addition, sharing experiences in operating digital ecosystems and digital content strategies will be emphasized. This cooperation contributes to improving the digital transformation capacity of each party, while affirming the pioneering position of VTV and CMG in the field of modern media.

To deepen the understanding of each country’s culture, especially for the younger generation, VTV and CMG will jointly produce the Young Reporters Exchange program. This is an opportunity for the younger generation of reporters to raise awareness, build traditional friendships, foster friendships, learn from each other and work towards a sustainable future.

Assessing the cooperation between VTV and CMG, VTV General Director Nguyen Thanh Lam emphasized that through specific cooperation projects, the two national television stations not only promote cultural exchange, create opportunities for Vietnamese and Chinese people to access and explore cultural values, traditions and modern achievements, enrich people's knowledge, but also contribute to building a solid foundation for lasting friendship between the two countries.

General Director Nguyen Thanh Lam expressed his belief that the cooperation between VTV and CMG will not only stop at the announcement ceremony and ideas, but will be realized through specific television programs, together conveying the brilliant and diverse images of two countries, two peoples and two cultures, telling traditional and modern stories, about the preservation of values ​​and the development of future-oriented technology.

Sharing the same view, Mr. Than Hai Hung, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, General Director and Editor-in-Chief of CMG affirmed that CMG and VTV will continue to implement cooperation projects, jointly organize many humanistic exchange activities, so that the small flow of cooperation and exchange between the media agencies of the two countries will form a large river of friendly exchange between China and Vietnam.

Through cooperation programs, VTV and CMG hope to continue to spread, enhance understanding, connect people, develop sustainably, and make practical contributions to strengthening the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
